Don't go if you want to get an espresso drink, cappuccino taste like hot milk

I’ve loved everything bought there: scones, malasada, croissant, breakfast sandwich, everything! Usually end up going there for one thing and come out with three because everything looks so good. On top of everything, they are SO nice!
Since I enjoyed the pastries so much, went back for pizza that they sell in the evening. There’s a wait but the owner is nice about it and texted us when our pizza was ready so we didn’t have to hang around. BOY was the wait worth it. Absolutely delicious!!

I live here and drive for this amazing coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Also super delirious fresh pastries! And fudge. Definitely best coffee shop on the island.

Terrible experience with this shop. I ordered a croissant sandwich, a bearclaw, and a caramel frap through doordash. The egg in the sandwich had a big eggshell in it and I tried to let that go and bit into it a second time but I just bit into more smaller eggshell pieces. Threw the sandwich away right then and there. The croissant part of the sandwich and the bear claw were both stale and just didn’t taste good. And the caramel frap tasted like straight up whey protein powder. Even the caramel syrup wasn’t good and I could only stomach a third of it. I hate that I paid for this, and now I have to order food from a different place since I couldn’t eat the food from here.

My favorite daily habit is walking over to Maleko for an iced cold brew coffee and a few pastries. My favorites are the malasadas below in my pic(guava, pineapple, coconut creme filled) and the mango muffin! Every time I’ve gone, the staff have always been super friendly and nice-very willing to answer any question you have like what flavor of the day they have. Their coffee is also more reasonably priced than surrounding cafes :)
10/27/2018 UPDATE:
Three months later and I still come by every day. Mornings I come by for my iced coffee and a breakfast sandwich and/or pastry :P Sometimes I grab a sweet snack for later in the day (way cheaper and fresh here than any snack downtown where I work). I finally walked over here after work to try their pizza and it was DELICIOUS. The dough was fresh, the toppings fresh, the cheese plenty and the sauce amazing. Its possibly the best pizza I've had in a long time, just how fresh and amazing it tasted. Mark the owner definitely works hard and takes pride in what he does. I love this place and you will, too! Will definitely stop by more often after work for a fresh pie, round out my day full circle with Maleko! :D

Maleko was amazing. We were starving on our first morning in Waikiki and came down from the hotel ready to do some damage. We spotted Maleko and entered like an invading army. The pineapple & coconut muffins are to die for. Moist and full of pineapple tasting goodness. We hit up the seeded bagels and pigs in a blanket too. Nothing we had was bad. It’s all fresh made nightly right across the walkway. The prices are very good. Especially compared to other breakfast joints we tried while there. Sadly we didn’t get to try the pizza they sell directly out of the bakery door but everyone in the hotel raved about it. We always came back to Maleko for our morning muffin fix. A true hidden gem.

We had the chocolate croissant and strawberry/cream cheese Danish and 2 cold brews, very good food for a quick cheap breakfast

This place is an hidden gem in Waikiki. Situated at the ground floor of the Monarch condo. Mickey prepares amazing pastries and pizza at night. The bakery is just next door and you can see him working all night long. Open as from 5 AM it ensures the best breakfast in town. Cappuccino is top but everyone should try the almond croissant.

This small, local bakery is absolutely amazing! The baker is very welcoming, the pastries are wonderful and seem to vary daily. We may have visited each day of our stay in Waikiki, except Sunday when it’s closed. I highly recommend anything with the mango filling!
