You should definitely add this place on your lists of places to visit. They are only open until 1 pm, so go early. Everyone one in here is super friendly. A great place for breakfast, its your typical old fashion diner! I hear they have great burgers as well. This could be my new favorite breakfast place.

This is not a coffee shop unless you like just regular weak coffee. 2.57 a cup. I walked 1/4 of mile from my hotel just for coffee.
It is a diner. Based on reviews a pretty good one.

My friend and I just had breakfast at Central Coffee Shoppe and I couldn't be happier. We had my friends dog along, so we sat outside. A slow drizzle started and the staff was VERY accommodating with moving our table under an awning. Our service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We had ample amounts of coffee, water and food. The price was perfect...we couldn't have asked for a better time. We'll be returning in the near future! I highly recommend Central Coffee Shoppe!đź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ť

If you like corned beef hash, I suggest going somewhere else. It’s marketed as homemade, but you cannot ask for the onions and peppers to be removed, and to me, it appears and tastes to be just another corned beef hash from a can. Corned beef hash should be made with fresh chopped/shredded corned beef, and should offer crispy hash browns instead of homefries(aka huge chunks of potatoes), and it should not be pre-made. The food was quick, and thoroughly cooked, and the biscuits and gravy were good, and the bacon was nice and crispy. The staff was busy, so I excused the fact that I was not offered a refill on my orange juice, and the coffee was only offered a refill after I had eaten all my food and was about to leave. Prices were reasonable for the times we live in thanks to Bidenflation🙄. All in all I didn’t feel there was anything special about this place. Definitely go somewhere else if you want good corned beef hash. I’d recommend the long drive to Lakeland for great corned beef hash at Fat Jacks on Florida Ave.

Just can't understand the reviews. Mediocre food, yellow lard for butter and you need to search for the cheese which is somewhere in the omelet. You never get a real bill, just a slip of paper with a reference number. At register it generates a total. If paying with a card you have to include a tip before inserting the card. Unlike others that have you choose a percentage, it prompts $3, 4 or 5
dollars for a $9 check Nice waitstaff, but again cannot understand the reviews.

Food is great. Portions are great. Prices are great. The staff is friendly and attentive...I was in town for several days and enjoyed every meal. If I lived in St. Pete this would be my go to spot. There are always businesses which I simply enjoy giving them my business...this is one of them.

Classic American Coffee shop - not a European style Cafe. A great, every day, central downtown breakfast option for locals.
They serve regular, American breakfasts here. Nothing fancy. But tasty, well made food, served by friendly folk.

I think I found my regular stop! Dropped in before work and got a traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast and home fries for 7 bucks! Got it piping hot within 5 minutes and still had ample time before clock-in. Plus, it was perfect! Absolutely scrumptious! DEFINITELY coming back! The staff are warm, friendly and down to earth. You MUST drop by this spot! It's amazing!

Sometimes you don’t want a bougie meal with a bougie price tag. Sometimes you just want a simple meal that you know is going to be good. This was my experience on my first visit to Central Coffee. I had the bacon and cheese omelet with home fries and wheat toast. They were all very good. The service was great and the food came within minutes of ordering. Could not have asked for a better experience. Other restaurants should take note on how it’s done.
