Huge breakfast menu.
Serves lunch, as well.
Good coffee!
Service is quick and my bacon, cheese, over easy egg on biscuit sandwich was yummy!

I've been to places that are a lot more friendly than that

I enjoy eating here almost every morning, the staff is amazing, it so clean I think the owner has OCD. Which is great. It worth your money. Quick service, and food is hot and cheap for what you are given. Must try.

Great food , great prices and great portions.

Overall the food is a good value and I like it. It has many Marilyn Monroe pictures on the walls. The place is not fancy. The food is quality diner food. The staff is busy running the entire time. Personally my only complaint is I cannot get French Toast that does not have a hint of peppers and onions in it. I am sure they are cooked on the same griddle.

I love the atmosphere here it's family like and food is excellent. They're fast and efficient and very friendly. I love Billie Starkey her personality is awesome!

Cannot believe I have lived near downtown for over forty years and just today discovered the Central Coffee Shoppe. As others have said, looks small from the front, once inside you will find a hard working and friendly staff. Good menu, super fast and attentive service. Atmosphere is like a good old fashion diner. There is counter, table and booth seating. We will be back and cannot wait to try out the lunch menu.

The best my husband and I could come up with was ‘it wasn’t bad...it just wasn’t good’.
He had come here before for disappointing French toast (it was made using regular sliced white bread), but I wanted to give this place another try.
We both got the ‘John’s Special’. The hash browns, onions, bacon and eggs were cooked well, just not much flavor. The cheese was literally prepackaged American cheese thrown on top and not given any time to melt (all three slices were still in their square shape.)
The pancakes were big and thick but rubbery and hard to cut; not fluffy.
The coffee was not bold or flavorful at all, it was pretty bland, and the only sweetening options were sweet n low and sugar.
Sadly a disappointing meal. The service was friendly and quick. If you are just looking for a super quick breakfast and don’t care much about flavor this place is fine. If you are looking for a yummy and fun brunch place, skip this one.

This diner recently changed owners. New people have cleaned it up quite a bit especially the rest rooms which were "third world" under previous owners. This is a breakfast and lunch diner and they do a pretty good job of it so sophisticated foodie reviews are kind of silly. Prices are fair to good. Want a quick breakfast? This is a good choice.
