Uppercrust

Never disappointed! I go every Saturday morning to get a variety of pastries and the rosemary boule!!!! There are no words to describe how good this place is. The atmosphere is lovely, the service is amazing, the product selection and quality is superb. I love having a little taste of Paris in my backyard! I would recommend it to anyone who would listen!

Bread prices are very reasonable, pastries a little high. Very busy small shop but they try to keep it flowing so it doesn't get backed up. Now open on Sundays which is great. Wine tasting are very popular cone early.

Great food. Some really fantastic French bread and pastries. The French roses are amazing. The Eclairs are unfortunately not worth the price, I've had much better Eclairs at other bakeries at a more reasonable price. I also had a very strange interaction with one of the staff. The first time I went there it seemed as though the girl was annoyed by my presence, annoyed that I was looking around, and extra annoyed by the fact I had questions. However I have been there several times since then and not had a problem. I don't ask questions or look around anymore, just in and out, which is a real shame.

Prices were higher than I expected, for a college town. A "chocolate tartlett" was $6.75, for a pastry about 3 inches in diameter, and not even an inch thick! If this was in Disney World, I might understand it better, but not in a neighborhood of senior citizens and college students, with limited finances.

Wonderful place to get fresh pastries and bread. I enjoy the soups. Prices are a bit high compared to other bakeries in GNV.

Wonderful! I'm not a big pastry person as they are often overdone with sugar but these are true french fashion and expertly made. I haven't had any variety that isn't delicious. They are great for meetings and my clients now look forward to me walking in the door with the white boxes. Highly recommend!!

I've been a patron of Uppercrust for years and I strongly recommend their assortment of pastries and french roses. These are outstanding and often so good they warrant immediately returning and buying another. It's best to arrive before noon as most of their pastries sell out.

Most of their breads are excellent, though on rare occasion it can taste unusual.

The best if not only French bakery that gets really close to being authentic. The flavors are amazing. Pricing is a little over the top but you get what you pay for. Only reason they don't get a 5 star is a hair was in my last pastry I got there. They immediately fixed the issue but that's something that needs to be handled appropriately so it doesn't happen again.

I went into Uppercrust on a whim while I was waiting on another appointment, and I was delighted. While Uppercrust relatively expensive, you most assuredly get what you pay for. The rosemary baguette was superb, as was the "rosette" and chocolate croissants I ordered- all obviously fresh and of the highest quality. While there have been previous complaints about the service, the two girls behind the counter seemed well informed and were pleasant and helpful. The gourmet shop selections were fantastic with a marvelous array of wines, cheeses, jams, sauces etc etc. My only disappointment was that both of my croissants were gone before I arrived home. I will definitely be returning soon, and will plan to shop here when I entertain/treat myself to something special.

My husband has been going to Uppercrust Bakery for years and under the new management has noticed some positive changes. They now have a wider selection of pastries which are all delicious. I would buy one of everything if I could and go back for more. Thank you to the owner and staff for a unique and unusual experience in Gainesville, FL
