Park View doesn't need to work on being "DC cool;" they already have it in the bag and the bag is called The Colony Club. If you're at all a coffee snob or coffee shop snob (there's a difference), this place is for you.
It's a small row house in a block of other shops and restaurants, but The Colony Club's sleek architecture makes it jump out at you. You'll be allured in by the smell of artisan coffee and perfectly bright lights. For being a small space, they make the most of it providing dozens of seats from long high tables, to four person tables, to bar seating. If you can't snag a seat, try upstairs. You'll find a ping pong table and a couch and a few chairs for you to use. The free wifi works just as well upstairs.
They provide several breakfast foods from granola to breakfast sandwiches. They have a simple coffee menu but it's one of the best lattes I've had in DC. They also have simple syrup (Surprisingly, not always a given at a coffee shop).
At night, The Colony Club dims the lights and it turns into a cool bar serving beer and wine.
If you pride yourself in knowing and experiencing DC, add The Colony Club to your list.

Good food, great coffee (especially the iced oat milk latte in the summer), and a lovely and large back patio. Perfect for a peaceful, safe afternoon reading spot.

I'm not sure how this place has managed to rank on so many best coffee shops of DC lists, so here's my take:
-spacious, but most seating is bar stools or benches
-few power outlets
-latte was mediocre, not hot enough, not bad but not really good either
-pecan scone was tasty although super buttery and very large
-the day I was there it was uncomfortably hot inside?
I get that the ping pong and bar give it a cool factor, but that's just not what I value in a coffee shop.

Great spot. It's good for working and they seem to encourage that. It's always been crowded when I've been on the weekend but I could find a spot at a counter. The espresso is excellent. I've had a breakfast sandwich each visit and it's also very tasty.

Great place to grab a coffee and do some work. The menu used to be much better than currently, which is why I am only giving it 4 stars. Definitely check the place out if you live in the area!

Your average trendy coffee shop. Pretty unimpressive and generally overpriced, but coffee is Heart so it’s fine. Unfortunate choice of name for a place that feels like a refuge for white people (at least it’s not called colonist’s club) in a gentrifying neighborhood.

Very good coffee and they just expanded their menu to add some great breakfast sandwich and lunch options. So glad they re-opened! A great spot to have in the neighborhood.

Was here for a book launch, so from the perspective of a group event this was an excellent spot. Their back patio was very nice and I enjoyed the drinks selection. We didn't try the food (except for some finger food wandering around the party) but we plan to return and explore this quaint bar a bit more. Staff and service were very nice and responsive.

Honestly this is one of the best coffee shops in dc, but it’s hours are insanely whack. I constantly forget and walk over on a Monday or in the afternoon only to have it be closed

Favorite coffee shop in DC for getting work done. The coffee, atmosphere, and wifi are always great. I'm also a big fan of the large of amount of bar seating. Sparkling tap water on tap is a plus too!
