Love the decor here, very simple and minimalist. It’s been a great addition to the up and coming neighborhood of Park View. There’s an upstairs seating area but usually I find this place gets pretty packed. The baristas are always really friendly and they have a good coffee selection. I like that they usually serve other more substantial foods from the typical pastries at most coffee shops. Last time I was here I had a made to order sandwich and today I got a tomato and greens bagel with chive cream cheese...very tasty! They also have really good WiFi which is perfect if you’re coming here with your laptop to do work. Just get here early!

Late night - Really great space for hosting events. You can bring your own food in (I recommend grabbing Sonny's pizza, just next door).

Drinks are a little more expensive than nearby Union Drinkery, but the patio is paved and the indoor space has better lighting.

None of this review is about the coffee/ working cafe that this place exists as for most of the day. See other comments for their take on that setting.

Love this local coffee shop / bar / back patio that turns into a bar at 5pm spot. They have everything! I especially love working with coffee from 2-5 and then switching over to a cider or glass or wine at 5pm when the cute little drink truck opens in the back patio. **Internet is spotty in the back, but they said they're working on better wifi

I've been looking for a coffee shop in DC that's truly a local spot and I have finally found it! The Colony Club is a local hangout with good coffee and good pastries. I went on labor day and it was packed, but that's a good thing!

Staff was friendly, location was clean, and the people around were nice. What I found very interesting was that people were friendly and talked to each other unlike anywhere else in DC, its like the cold blooded lizard politicians dont go there! 10/10 recommend. If you come in a bike it's a bonus for me!

The staff and venue are amazing. We were hosting a workshop on the second floor and plenty of space for our attendees (15 people). We got great compliments from attendees. The menu is fantastic, and their hot chocolate is my new favorite. It's best to get there by Metro (two stops are 10–15min walk), but there are a few parking options nearby.

Loved the Old Fashioned and the French 74. Caught a comedy show here at the small venue upstairs, seems like a great place for a coffee or a quiet drink, and the outdoor seating is great! I'll definitely be back in the nicer weather to enjoy that.

Love this place. The coffee is great. It's a good atmosphere to get some work done and there's a patio out back to enjoy a drink when you're done. They have fun/random stuff going on in the evenings too.

Great coffee and pastries. The staff is friendly, patience and willing to offer suggestions if you're not sure what you'd like. I love that they offer coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening. Make sure to check out the patio out back. Great for a drink!

Great coffee shop that doubles as bar. High quality coffee selection from various roasters. Very nice place to read or do work during the day; upstairs has a ping-pong table if that interests you. The hours are sometimes a little erratic and you should probably check their Instagram account for irregular hours) closings before going on the weekend.

Quality coffee and atmosphere. The service is always friendly as well. I haven't had great luck with coffee shops in DC but Colony Club is great. I wish they kept serving espresso throughout the evening though.
