Finally tried one for myself today after years of hearing middling reviews from friends and family. My hope was to prove them wrong, but I'm afraid they were right. I asked for the freshest donut availabl, which a classic chocolate glaze. It was...okay. There was just nothing at all special about it, and certainly nothing worth charging $3.60 for (yes, for one donut.) Save your money and appetite for something better.

This was my first time visiting District Doughnut Sunday June 7th, 2020. And the girl with dreadlocks has the worst customer service. Wasn't welcoming, just look at you crazy. I the customer had to speak first. If I asked a question she barely want to answer. The doughnuts was excellent.

The owner and staff are incredible. Unfortunately, the donuts are inconsistent. Some days they're delicious. Others, they're tough and very difficult to chew. I've had the same experience since they opened at the Wharf. And you can't tell just by looking at them. Way too expensive to not know!

They have some cool flavors.

The venue is super quaint and its locations in both Georgetown and eastern market are perfect for exploring done of the best areas of dc. The staff are also super friendly and fun. Get a half dozen to share and sample with friends either at the store or take a little walk down to the water front! The donuts were very cake-like.

Soooo good. Amazing doughnuts. I recommend the Brown butter flavor

This is probably one of the top places to get doughnuts in the district, but you have to get there early for a good selection. I also have had better, more creative doughnuts in other cities for similar prices. The $1 doughnuts at farmer's & distiller's beat this place, but district doughnut has more flavors and great staff. Coffee selection is OK. Not much space to sit and hang out but I've only gone in cold months so I'm not sure if outdoor seating is there when it's warmer.

The best, softest, melt in your mouth donuts, totally expensive but worth the indulgence at least once a quarter and they sell Compass Coffee, our new favorite local coffee! its beginning to show up everywhere, even Dolcezza uses it in their coffee flavored ice cream! Im a true DC girl! Love my hot spots! this is definitely one of them!

Incomparable Doughnuts!!! The Best of the best!!!
If you live in DC and you have not tried District Doughnuts you need to change that immediately! They bake absolutely fantastic donuts. I can't even eat one at Dunkin anymore as District Doughnuts have spoiled me forever. Now there are 3 locations in DC so find the one closest to you and go there!

Wow wow wow! I'd seen this place on instagram so I knew I had to stop in while my family and I were in town for mother's day. We arrive at this adorable shop and upon entering we are pleasantly greeted and talked into a dozen with our eyes and ears. Impatient and convinced we took some for there and some to go. My family and I are self-professed sweet enthusiast and these guys did NOT disappoint. Apparently they change there menu per season and we feel we came on the right one! The cherry blossom was the tastiest mess. Turns out doughnuts are not the only thing to have your eyes on when you see the T-shirts the staff are sporting. A pretty sales lady convinced us that if we were really the enthusiast we claimed to be, to go all out and we did! We left that day with happy tummies and new duds. We will be back! #DoughnutsandFreedom
