Donuts are fresh and come in mouth watering flavors!

I don't consider myself a doughnut guy, but they got me good with every seasonal menu item. They're hard working doughfessionals and you need to visit them if you're in the DC area.

I really, really want to love this place. Cute doughnut shop right on Barracks Row? PLUS they spell doughnut the way I do! Alas, love is elusive. Their doughnuts are good, but never great. I don't crave them, and I crave pretty much everything. They're often too sweet, a bit dry, or the flavor of the filling is diluted by being mixed with too much cream. Still, very cute little shop and one I visit from time to time. Interesting flavors and a cool vibe. If you go, I recommend the brown butter doughnut. Simple, yes, but also what they do best. Hopefully District Doughnut'll up their doughnut game just a bit so I can stop benching/submarining them and finally commit. 3.5*.

Love this place. I'm in the area roughly every 30-45 days and I always stop to pick up a box to take home to the family. Every visit in greeted with a smile and it's just a pleasure to come in and get some doughnuts. The variety is great and they get changed around based on season and holidays.

The store on Barracks Row is yet to open (coming in September), but if these folks treat business the same when they open as to how they are doing marketing, they will do very well. I met District Doughnut at the Yelp 10 Year Birthday Party and they invited us Yelpers to their soft launch in August. I went with two friends and the staff was super friendly. They let us try two of their doughnuts: Cookies and Cream and Blueberry. The cookies and cream is a cake doughnut and has glaze and Oreos on top. The blueberry one is a regular doughnut with all the blueberry toppings (It looks fancy). Both tasted amazing. They also have Compass coffee (which is opening in Shaw NW soon). One thing to note about Compass coffee is the decaf is actually good (Usually decaf coffee is only decent at best).
5 stars for great marketing, friendly staff, a strong social media presence, and a great location.

Overpriced and tasted stale. They look delicious but surprisingly aren’t that good. Bummer.

Good stuff! I definitely want to come back but maybe closer to morning time. Wife and I came here 15min before closing and definitely did not get the best but still tasted great. The creme brûlée doughnut was incredible.

Not the most incredible donuts I've ever eaten, but still very good. There isn't much space to sit inside or outside, so I'd recommend taking the donuts out to a park or nearby bench. Overall, I think this shop is a bit overrated.

Delicious! I had a limited edition cherry blossom donut that was to die for! The glaze and chocolate are just okay but their specialty doughnuts are definitely worth the trip
