are you, too, one of those people who loves a third-wave coffee joint with narrow light wood tables pushed up against a floor-to-ceiling window, ~quirky~ light fixtures, tasteful local art on the walls, & depressing music that’s probably Objectively Good (thanks to a barista who, when you ask about the music, is like “you’ve … never heard of elliott smith??? he’s pretty famous”)…if so, you will enjoy the stylings of fussy coffee, which is probably my favorite place to while away several hours sipping an iced latte and “””studying””” in as much sunlight as new haven can muster. good coffee, good food, good music. if you’re there alone do not get the fries, it is too much food for one person.

Great coffee roast, very busy place and you might have to wait to find table especially on Sundays. Their flat white was amazing and their walnut double chocolate cookie is one of the best i have had. Very well balanced. also their avocado toast is spot on. very bright and open atmosphere. it's a not so fussy calm place.

I have been here a few times, have always enjoyed my coffee(it’s delicious!) and the food I order. Nice staff and cool spot. It’s 5 minutes away from my job so I can come by on my lunch break-and 10 minutes away from my house.
Today my friend and I stopped in to catch up. We noticed that it was packed, but we said no problem and decided that we would sit outside even though it was only about 55 degrees. It just so happened that there were 2 seats open against the windows and another patron nicely moved over so we could sit next to each other. We were talking, not loudly- actually lower than normal- and we kept getting dirty looks from the 2 girls next to us. I understand that this coffee shop is close to Yale and many people come to do work. But if you are coming to a public place, expect there to be noise or people talking. If you want quiet, go to a library. I was really turned off by that behavior. We are just 2 friends catching up. I completely understand that this is at no fault of the owners. I just post this as a warning if that kind of thing bothers you. We kept talking, as we are allowed to do!! I’ll be back- and I’ll bring more friends! 😝LOL

The iced lemon ginger tea is caffeinated -- or at least it appears to be, even though it is listed as herbal. The lemonade comes with (a lot!) of sugar. I recommend that this property seriously consider improving the clarity (or lack thereof) with which their products are described.

There are very few individual tables or tables for small groups.

Living in the coffee capital of the USA: Seattle. I love this place, I’ve gone to various coffee shops around town. This have to be my favorite. Especially on the weekend, the coffee is made right and is always tasteful. A cortado is a cortado and a latte is a latte. Love the snacks, and the only thing is the loud music at times but glad I have AirPods. Been a ritual coming here very Sunday.

Just had a delicious Korean bahn mi at Fussy. Crunchy veggies, crisp fried chicken... Paired with a good hot coffee. Excellent

My second visit to Fussy and it was just as enjoyable as my first! This time we had iced lattes, poke bowls and the kale salad. Loved all three...but especially enjoyed the daikon radishes in my poke bowl. The staff was super friendly and the scene was relaxing with picnic tables out front to sit with my pup. Would highly recommend...for both the coffee and the food. Definitely not your typical coffee shop.

I heard about fussy coffee from a couple different people and was finally able to stop in and try it out. It is definitely a high end coffee shop, with pour overs and different means of making gourmet coffee. I got an Americano and it was very good. My daughter was happy that they had oat milk, which I guess most places don't have. It is big and roomy and bright, my daughter from California says it's very much like a California coffee shop.

I love the design of this place. The coffee is high quality (perhaps best in New Haven?) and the food is delish. Try the breakfast burrito and salsa.
