Always a good coffee shop, great owner, cool people, lots of locals, good merch. A bit of food if your wanting a breakfast snack or a lunch. I go there every time I'm in town, which is regularly.

The Root House is top knotch and World Class

I have been a batista in 3rd wave cafes in Boulder, San Francisco, New Zealand and Melbourne Australia.
One thing you realize is you can have a high end set up and still end up with a bad drink because it takes skills to pour rosettas and have it taste perfect to the last drop!

I was served a proper flat white with authentic interactions and a cozy environment that you don’t want to leave.
One Love!

It is cozy and has a good view coffee shop. I would love to sit here and look at the river while enjoying my coffee. The location from the main street is a little hidden, but not too difficult to find.

My mother and I got drinks here. Both the coffee and the tea tasted good. Some of the trinkets sold here were neat. It looks across the river to the hot springs. They do have a coffee with a whiskey option, which I had never seen before. I would stop in here again.

By far one of the coolest coffee spots I’ve ever been to! If you’re in Pagosa, be sure to stop by, grab a coffee, and check out their amazing retail!

MidnightOracleMinis

Bit pricey, but considering they are made in house it made it worth.
Sausage breakfast balls taste 10/10

Drinks are decent, Higher grounds has more variety

Probably one of the nicest more Boojie shops by product & looks in town

walked in and gave the barista a warm, "Good Morning". And she felt like she could just stare at me blankly and not respond, I wonder who raised someone like this never mind manages them in a customer service position

The hours are posted wrong on Google so I arrived an hour early because obviously no one knows how to run this place and the management is either absent or incompetent

Half of this place is devoted to selling tourist trinkets at the sacrifice of floorplan warmth and lay out

This place has all of the warmth and vibrance of a Starbucks kiosk at a busy mall in Wisconsin.

$3.00 for a cup of coffee $1.00 tip. stood in line for 12 minutes watching these people work at a ridiculous pace I could even get a refill had to leave

The employees are all very very young and they have one speed no matter how many people are in the place or how many people are in line. SLOW. Like watching the grass grow or golf on Sunday afternoon television

Just left such a bad taste in my mouth I'm not going to be recommending this place to many visitors and my word goes a long long way

Because I never once in my entire life never responded to somebody when they said good morning to me no matter where I was never mind in a customer service position behind the counter

They hit every mark❣️parking both upside at the over look (2hourmax parking), and down next to the San Juan. Seating overlooks The Springs Spa and Resort across the river.

SHADED outdoor seating at bistro style tables overlooking Roots specific parking lot.

Soft, enobtuse ‘background’ music that allows for conversation and or to sit and own enough of yourself to be creative on the laptop.

Variety of seating types from lounge to table top and bar style.

The prices are less than what I have experienced. I ordered a 16 almond milk latte and a slice of spinach feta quiche. It was 10.00 and some change!!!!!!!

Quality. I am sorry to all my family and friends but this quiche left you in its dust!
I had to take another sip of my perfectly made latte, but my old lady readers on and look to see what in heck they may have done to make savoy firm yet fluffy quiche taste so amazing. ..... I am a bit blown away.

I had to add extra tips to the tip jar and make sure the counter folks knew it was for the cook.

Now to go back to my van, grab a swim suit and get into the river below .... for free!

Oh, and while the terrain is steep there are several options for wheel chairs and strollers. This location does have a wheel chair lift off their own parking lot. So go off the main drag down hill past the court house and go left. You will find the parking just for the Root.

During covid they are masked up and being conscious of contamination. Thank you guys.

Great experience! All staff had masks on and their dog-friendly patio had a water bowl and sanitizing station. Love the iced dirty chai and lemon cake! Definitely recommend!

London fog and matcha latte: AMAZING!!!
Black coffee and in house made cinnamon sugar donut: Delicious!!
Sausage, egg, and cheese taquitos: just okay, but I’m a Texas girl that loves homemade tortillas.
Will be back, can’t wait to try the kolaches, praying for the oven to be fixed soon and lids that will fit the larger new cups better.
Atmosphere is fantastic, Excellent and timely customer service, even on a busy Monday morning, Thank you!
