Not necessarily a Portuguese entree menu with slow cooked beef with collared greens. Tasted good but you expect that at $36 plus tip, sales tax, and 5% San Francisco tax. They brought me the wrong entree that I didn’t order. The staff didn’t bring out me and my partner’s entrees out not even within 10 minutes of each other. Our 2 desserts came out 10 minutes apart too. I asked for an espresso and they brought me a regular coffee. Unacceptable performance from a “high end” restaurant.

Unexpectedly excellent! Had food, drinks, and dessert and there was not a single miss among these. This was our first time having Portuguese food- not sure if it’s normally this good or we got lucky. On the pricier side, and the tables felt a bit close together where we were seated, but otherwise everything else was great.

I went there with a group of friends who had never been to a Portuguese restaurant. The food was authentic and the service was ok. There is an "à la carte" menu and a taste menu that consists of a starter, a main, and a dessert. The taste menu had less dishes and the server told us that either all of us choose the taste menu or that's not available. This was inconvenient. The Pastel de Nata tasted frozen and re-heated in the microwave. This was a disappointment. The food quality doesn't match the prices.

Grabbed dinner w/friends on Sunday night. Four of us are the first-timer for Portuguese food.

Ambience 5- stars: cute mediterranean style decor.

Service 5-stars: the servers are attentive and friendly and the complimentary housemade chips were delicious.

Ordered/ 4 ppl
**Rissois de camarão (shrimp turnover): thumbs up for the savory shrimp and the spicy pirl-pril aioli
**Polvo Dourado (octopus): crusted octopus is awesome, however, it was a little sour.
**Bacalhau Gomes De sa(salt cod w/potatoes, egg): the caramelized onion is the point!
**Costeleta A Alentejana(pork chop w/clam): can’t believe the pork chop works harmoniously with clams.
Bife a cavalo(ribeye w/fried egg): highlight for the garlic- malagueta sauce.
Portuguese custard tart: I got spoiled by the Macao Portuguese tart, but the authentic Portuguese custard also has a different flavor.

Overall experience: 5/5

Great Portuguese restaurant... Warm and cozy place, food is authentic and reasonably priced. Selection of seafood, meat and vegetable dishes. The octopus is really well done. (Only downside I would caution is that acoustics are challenging and it gets really noisy. Your ears will need a break. Restaurant should consider some soft fabrics to break the resonance.)

I used to go to Portugal fairly often, so was delighted to find a Portuguese restaurant here in SF. They have a range of great Portuguese dishes and wines on the menu. The experience was nice overall, though a little hit and miss. The Caldo Verde soup we tried was for example unusually thin, and my wife tells me the restaurant had done it very nicely on previous occasions. I really enjoyed my pork cutlet as a main - great clams and very tasty sauce. The pastel de nata for dessert was tasty, though deviating a bit from tradition (not flaky or burnt enough). The decor is also very nicely done - modern, but with touches of Portuguese tiles and whitewashed walls.

Came here for restaurant week, thought it was odd we weren't offered the restaurant week menu initially only after we asked for it. They were busy and probably understaffed tonight. This was my first time having Portuguese cuisine and honestly I wasn't impressed. The arugula salad was good but the soup was just alright. The fried cod potato balls were the highlight of my night, the sardines were way too fishy for me. For the main courses we tried the fish casserole which was really salty and there was a pool of oil at the bottom, the other main we tried was the braised pork with clams which was played nicely but was very bland. We finished off with Portuguese tarts, prolly one of the best I've had. Based on the traffic I'm going to assume their regular menu is good but the special menu for restaurant week was a let down for me.

Fantastic food and ambiance. Sampled a number of small plates and a few larger ones. Highlights for me were the Rissois de Camarão (a shrimp turnover), the Salada de Atum (absolutely delightful raw tuna with egg and onion purée), and the Gambas Moçambique (a shrimp dish in spicy red sauce with toast). But everything really was a winner – the cod fritters were salty and fried goodness, the sardines were moist and the skin was perfectly crisped, and the risotto was a seafood wonderland with a perfect bite to the rice. The crispy polenta cake missed the mark for me, but that's probably just my taste, rather than the execution.

It's casual atmosphere without being raucous, and really does feel like coming home. The wine list is spot on – small but perfectly curated, highlighting Portuguese delights that you're unlikely to have tried before (with a knowledgable staff to help guide you).

Definitely recommend a visit if you like Portuguese food, great seafood, or are just looking for something a bit different that will knock your socks off.

Had my birthday meal here. The ambiance and service were okay. However I'm quite disappointed with the food. They were bland and tasted one-dimensional. I grew up on Portugese egg tarts and the one I had was average. The chocolate cake was crumbly so not sure what was going on.

Everything was pretty good and fairly authentic. My favorites were the pork with clams & chorizo stew, bacalau casserole, and grilled octopus. Pass on the natas, pricey for size and just meh. Service and hospitality were impeccable!! For 2 adults + 2 kids, we ate really well!

5 appetizers + 3 main dishes + 1 beer + 2 desserts = $185 w/o tip
