El Techo

I went to El Techo for my bday and all I got was food poisoning. Mysel and the other guest who ate the ceviche became violently ill about an hour later. I emailed the restaurant 4 times and never received a response. I am very disheartened at this experience and will never return.

This place is absolutely insane!! Everything is perfect, the drinks the food the view!! The happy hour is 4 to 6 pm so you can enjoy a good drink with an amazing view for a fair price!! All the stuff was friendly and helpful!! For sure I’ll be back and bring some friends

Brunch menu has very few options. The view is nice but the restaurant was restricting guests to a small area with limited ability to see it. The chilaquiles are made cold. When I mentioned they were cold they said that’s how they’re supposed to be.

Make reservations! Early morning brunch and there's still a line waiting to get in. You talk to the host at the door before you enter the building. When they're ready they send you to the top floor for some roof top dining. I wanted to go for their grilled meats but that's not in their menu for lunch. Instead we got some small plates to share and our breakfast dish. Their fried plantanas were delicious. My friend who never had them was so amazed. Service is good here. I can't wait to go back. Everything was delicious.

I came here during those winds and floods and their tents stood against it! I was able to enjoy my food and drinks, while still being WARM!!

Food was fairly tasty and service was great. Review is a bit biased as we had just returned from all the delicious food in Mexico City and it was hard to compare. The pineapple cider was tasty! We ordered the fried plantain (my favorite), verde quesadilla and the chorizo sandwich.

The sunset wasn't too great that evening but it is quite a sweeping view of San Francisco.

Get there when they open if you can. The line out front gets long pretty much right away. The restaurant/ bar is on the top of the apartment building, so they monitor the elevator so it runs smoothly for everybody. The views are really nice if you can get by a a side railing. But note it is standing only along the outside and only drinks and apps. If you want to order food you sit at a table with less chance of a view. The bar service was fast, the guac was tasty. Happy hour is M-F 4-6. Margaritas were strong. The sangria is a great deal and tasty.

Cool rooftop patio with nice views. Food was good and drinks were great. I'd recommend this place to a friend.

A friend recommended El Techo for us to try. My husband, my brother and dined on March 10th a Friday, I ordered the sangria, along with the chicharron and some of their tortillas. The food was good until I bit into my food and started chewing and not down on a small staple. I immediately alerted our waitstaff to let them know. She apologized and let me know that a manger would come out to talk to me. That never happened. I was in complete and utter shock! In shock because there was a staple in my food but also schooled because a manager never came to check up on us or offer an apology. True lack of care for their patrons. Would not recommended!

The menu says fried chicharron, and they literally give you carnitas. Don't get me wrong, I love a good carnitas plate. But when you add sugar to it, to make it more appealing to others, that just ruins great carnitas. I've heard so much great stuff about this restaurant, from its atmosphere, to its cocktails, and Great Latin food. I was looking forward to hot,savory, well seasoned food. Instead I get a deconstructed teriyaki carnita plate. Truly disappointed.
