Better Buzz Coffee Hillcrest

Coffee is good and staff is really nice but man, the whole place is just really dirty. The stairs are dirty, virtually everywhere you look there’s trash and dirt on the floor, all trash bins are overflowing, tables and furniture are all dirty.

It’s crazy how much cleanliness has decayed in this place over time. It’s such a shame cause it’s a nice building.

Also, theres LITERALLY only one power outlet (upstairs) in the whole shop. I know this is “first word problems” but in 2022 and with a lot of people working remotely, having power outlets across a coffee shop is kind of a must.

Decent coffee - though a bit on the hot side (I suspect this is an Americanism). The breakfast is a bit plain: pretty much as described -two poached eggs on plate with toast. Little in the way of presentation or effort.

They offer a few hot sauces, but no tomato sauce.

Love the yogurt bowls. They’re not very sick but when your order is ready and CORRECT it’s good.

I always come here and order the Hazelnut Divinity but my most recent visit it tasted completely different. It tasted like straight up syrup and I couldn’t even finish it because it made my stomach hurt. I had already left so I tried emailing the company for a refund and they never responded.

Extremely hot coffee. They must've expected me to stay 16 hours in their shop waiting for the cup of lava they served me. I asked for another cup and did the trick where you pour the coffee from one cup to the other repeatedly for 10 minutes. Ridiculous. Once it was cool enough to not boil my intestines I tasted the most plain coffee water I've had. Chocolate croissant has 1 Hershey kiss worth of chocolate. Awful I will not drink coffee for the rest of the year please close down

Coffee was fine, but was baffled by the fact that 8 people were working there (at least who was standing around the counter) and the drinks were being made by only 1 person. Took at least 15 minutes, while I waited.. I watched 3-5 employees just standing around blatantly talking behind the bar. Tables were not clean and lines for the one register open backed out the open door.

First off, this place is beautiful. One of the best looking cafes I've seen. Unfortunately that's all I liked about my experience here.

Wasn't able to get basic drink options (skim milk, soy milk latte) that are standard fare elsewhere.

Waited 10 minutes for drinks despite counting 8 people working behind the counter and 12 customers getting coffee.

And the coffees themselves were not good.

We ordered espresso and caffe latte (oat milk given not soy). The latte was hot, overcooked, The espresso was quite over extracted.

(Why do so many American baristas seemingly not know how to make basic espresso coffee drinks well?)

This seems like a "dessert drink" place based on the drinks crossing the counter. If that's your thing, this might be a 5 star place.

I'll have to try elsewhere for solid espresso.

Went in on 02/17 in the morning and I just need to say that whoever made my Hazelnut Divinity deserves THE WORLD because it was hands down THE BEST hazelnut divinity, actually best coffee, I have ever had!

A great taste of coffee and delicious sandwiches. Very kind baristas and staff. Try one of their special coffee drinks

This is the coolest Better Buzz location I've been, it's spacious with an awesome vibe, BUT... it's the least yummy. I ordered my usual -hot Best drink ever- and it tasted watered down. Staff is really nice and decor is pretty cool. I'd definitely come back and give it another chance.
