So this is my second visit to Better Buzz on University in Hillcrest. I ordered a large Caramel Buzz, with almond milk substituted. This drink is absolutely amazing! The perfect amount of sweet, creamy, delicious!

There was a short line when I arrived, but my order was ready quickly. Bonus, reggae music was playing, which was wonderful!

I highly recommend this Better Buzz. You will not be disappointed. ♡

Awesome concept; latte from Kenya was phenomenal. Bagel lox was a nice breakfast served on a nice wood platter. Wish most places took such great care in their product. What an amazing world it would be....

The best coffee spot/cafe I've been to in a minute 👌🏾

Great nitro coffee, interesting drinks like Butterfly matcha lattes... The avocado toast is delicious and prices are reasonable. Beautiful place with lots of seats inside and outside (different tables and comfie seats) and even meeting rooms. A must-visit!

You got to try the lavender and Chai tea (cold) they are both delicious. The large is only $1 more compared to the regular. Good atmosphere. Reason why they don't get a 5th star, their pastries section is kind of limited, we wish they had a larger variety of pastries.

Let me start off by saying that the coffee is great! No issue with the customer service, no issue with the beverage: each get a star. Ambience is a lot for a coffee shop, and you can't help but feel like they don't want people to stick around long (don't plan to study or work) as there is a DELIBERATE lack of outlets. Confirmed that there is one upstairs, and 6-8 nonworking outlets in the exterior area. If you are looking for a good place to get some work done, it's not here. Keep searching for a more welcoming environment.

I'm in San Diego often commuting from LA and this is one of only two coffee shops in San Diego I've had that actually has good coffee and drinks and is a good workspace deliberately designed understanding californian coffeehouse culture (go in to get food or a drink and use the coffeehouse as a workspace, not just a place you run in to get barely caffeinated drip coffee or a sugary whipped cream drink and go). This is now my favorite coffeehouse in all of southern california and wish my path crossed where it is more often.

For those who cant have lactose: they have options other than almond or soy. I got coconut and saw other options (I want to say macadamia milk was on the menu too but I could be wrong). This is my biggest frustration when I visit San Diego coffee shops- non soy lactose free options (even just lactaid) tend to not be available. I'd recommend coconut or oat milk over other options.

Accessibility: both doors were wheelchair accessible, the line is either long or none at all it seems, and theres plenty of good ground floor seating with plenty of normal heighted (not just tall barstool tables) tables with interchangeable chairs that a wheelchair could be at. Spare chairs exist where you're waiting for your coffee.

Easily could get food and a drink and spend half the day here working

Hands sown my worst ever Better Buzz experience. The moment I arrived to the cashier I greeted to an extremely rude cashier. Makes several mistakes. I try to hand my phone to scan it for my points. She refused and said next time. I’m a fan of this location till now.

Tried 3 different drinks and they were mediocre at best. No strong coffee flavors in the drinks, which mean they either taste watered down or overpowered by sweetener….If a place offers “large” cappuccinos that should be a warning sign to you

Excellent coffee and talented baristas. I can order food + coffee online and it's ready in five min. HOWEVER I find it disturbing that they're still forcing you to use the awful paper straws made from recycled garbage. They turn to mush in minutes and saturate your drink with debris from the recycled garbage the straws are made out of. The whole stigma around plastic straws was revealed to be corporate PR so we'd blame ourselves instead of the ACTUAL corporations that are responsible for 99% of environmental pollution and destruction. Remember, every business that uses paper straws is telling you "It's you. You're the problem."
