Nice place, good pastries but no expresso drinks!
And the non expresso drinks they serve takes waaaaaaay toooooo long.
And those who make and serve the non expresso beverages are a little to special for such a simple task for my tastes.
But hey, if you like snowflakes with your politically correct coffee and don't mind paying hi prices so you can fit in with the crowd and feel special then go for it.

Coffee here is great, and I also love the avocado toast and ice black tea. Nice service, the couch is super comfortable! Park in nearby garage for $0.25/hour during work days before 6pm.

Love This place! The best coffee ive ever had, and strongest

Great and consistent coffee! It can get crowded during certain times of the day or if there's an event happening in downtown Redwood City. However, we always make the trek just got the coffee.

I'm a fan. Coffee is great, barristas are friendly and good at what they do. Prices are high but that's life in the Bay area. Expect to wait a few minutes but that's the price of the single cup brewing process.

This is a review for philz in general. I've only been to 2 locations but my experience was very much the same.
It might be overwhelming to order for the first time, as coffees here have Their own names, but Their coffee experts are very knowledgeable and willing to help you find your perfect cup!
I always get the Jacobs wonderbar. Best coffee I've had in the US! I loved the flavor ~ with hints of dark chocolate, smoke, and nuts (not smoke from cigars, the meaty smoke I'd assume, but actually didn't taste it so much). I've also tried the tesora (with caramel nuts and butter hints) but still prefer Jacobs and continue to order this one.
They have some real special coffees but I'm conservative so will probably stick to my own, if you want something different, how about trying the mint bonito iced coffee? Looks very Pretty!

Great place to have a business meeting and grab a cup of coffee! The only downside is that you are paying almost $5 for a cup of coffee, not even a specialty drink! The Mint Mojito coffee is the best on the menu in my opinion!

Friendly service. Good location. Good coffee. The line can be long sometimes so not really convenient if you want to get coffee and get out the door during lunch break.

Philz is hands-down my favorite Bay Area cafe. I am an iced mojito addict. I used to order it "sweet and creamy" and that shiz is amazing but I recently switched to either oat milk or soy milk and there is not an iota lost in quality. "Taste it and let me know how it is before you pay." "Perfect as always." Tip your baristas, folks! ♡
The space itself is super chill too, fast WiFi, comfortable workspaces, friendly staff and patrons.

The coffee here is fantastic, easily beats any of the chain coffee places with the attention to detail of an artisan coffee shop. Pricing is extremely fair as well. My only gripe is with the ordering system, it takes some getting used to.
