Food was fine. Nice people. Probably the best option in walking distance of the hotel next door.

Good pastrami. Good sausage. Good cookies. Cookie is soft, and very large (photo has standard size take out box for scale).

Breakfast burrito: 7/10
Pastrami cali breakfast thing: 8/10
Cookie: 8/10

Stopped here on a long trip today. The food is amazing!! We got mac n cheese bites, potato soup, and the Zesty hot dog and it was all incredible. Taste, size, for the price is unbeatable. Service is nice and the place is very cute and spacious.

First time coming here with the family. I love the decor and super cool photos of all muscle cars.
My kiddo just wanted fries as all little ones do. I got the French dip sandwich and wow it was spectacular. Hard to find a good French dip sandwich. My significant other got the Cajun chicken sandwich and that was delicious 😋
10/10 staff were friendly and inviting, food was fresh and cooked to order and the atmosphere was friendly.

We will for sure save room next time for sweets.

The dinner was fantastic. Food was great. We are down in Redding for work and have eaten at Hilltop Diner twice for dinner. Both nights Ali was our server; she provided 5 star service and even better commentary. Will definitely eat there again.

Takes 45 min - 1 hour to get food, and it was only burgers.... Staffing issue? I am not sure. Food is okay, just burgers and fries. They have a few diner meals, like Meatloaf, chicken fried steak, etc. Breakfast served all day. Burgers are $13- 15 and include fries. Shakes are $5 for normal flavors, $10 for special flavors. Our first time trying this place, we won't be back.

I've been reading a lot about the new Hilltop Diner that moved into the vacated Marie Calender building. I thought I'd see for myself.

Service was prompt and courteous. The hostess and waitress seemed a little young and maybe inexperienced, but they did fine. They made me feel welcome and well attended to.

I saw Chicago Hot Dog on the menu. I'd been daydreaming about a hot dog all afternoon. Being from just outside of Chicago, if I can find someone that can do a decent Chicago dog, they'll have a loyal customer.

They were out of hot dogs.

Nuts.

Okay. Let's go with a Teriyaki Burger and fries.

After a bit, I thought the order was maybe taking too long. I stopped and told myself, "Where do I have to be? If I was in a hurry, I should have hit a fast food joint."

I kicked back and enjoyed reading my book.

Soon enough, my order came.

Wow! A stacked burger, grilled just right. Hot off the grill. Perfect balance of sweet and spicy. The fries were even tasty.

I think I'm outgrowing these stacked, two-handed burgers. I like to be able to put it down between bites without it falling apart. But...that's what's popular these days, and this one was executed well.

I'm glad I stopped. I'll be back. And I'm looking forward to their Chicago Hot Dog.

Open late, near hotels. 10% discount if you bring your room key in & show them! Came in close to close & they were very kind and accommodating. Had an avocado burger that was 10/10. Dillon and Kasie were awesome!

First time visiting the Hilltop Diner. Stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We waited to be seated for a couple minutes, before being greeted and offered a table or booth. The restaurant is decorated in a fifties diner theme and has a nice vibe to it. They also have a large selection of fresh baked pies available to purchase. Our host & server was friendly, energetic and very competent. After looking over the menu, we ordered mimosas and breakfast. The mimosas were brought out and, not long after, breakfast was served. We enjoyed a Cali Benedict, a build your own omelette and the mixed berry sweet crepes, with eggs and potatoes. The food was very good. This was a nice breakfast experience at the Hilltop Diner. We will eat here again. We enjoyed the atmosphere, had excellent service and very good food. Just a little FYI, their website and menu don't mention mimosas, but they are served here.

Great diner and very friendly service. Good was alright, not the best, but worth getting. I personally didn't care for the gravy on the biscuits and gravy, but everything else was good.
The waitress was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of.
The pie was very good and reasonably priced. It's also nice they have coupons in the mailer I received.

Fabulous 1950s diner food and atmosphere. Our waitperson, Prince was very attentive and friendly. We went here after attending a concert at Shasta College. Perfect meal to end a perfect day. We highly recommend the prime rib veggie soup. You should also check out the giant cookies and pie!
