As an European I've certain expectations with coffee (sorry sounds arrogant, but original Italian style is THE real coffee). If you travel in the US and expect good coffee at every corner: you'll be devastated! Americans let normally drip water through ground coffee without pressure, so there's never a very strong taste whatever bean and roast you try. Nevertheless @ Philz I had a very good coffee drink, was going back several times after discovering it. Friendly staff, modern and elegant interior. That was nice!

Good coffee at a high price, a classic of Palo Alto. I tried The Philarmonic, which has cardamom and mint. Very balanced blend that hits all the spots on the palate, I recommend it a lot. The pastries are somewhat OK, but nothing out of this world. They have plenty of seating inside and outside, would come back.

Delicious pour over coffees made to order. It's kind of slow because it's all so individual, but really tasty. Kind of expensive, but there's a $1 discount if you bring your own cup (a larger coffee for the price of a small). Yum!

A unique stop for any coffee lover. The individually prepared cups keep the standards high however I personally find them a little sweet for my taste. For best quality visit after a meal to cap things off.

I love Philz coffee, great tasting smooth blends! I would give it 5 but there's always a line. It moves well but on average you'll need 20 minutes (or more) to order coffee. Staff is always super friendly and attentive to your liking.

Absolutely love this coffee shop as they hand brew everything for you and customize it to your preferences. For example, you can ask for 1 or 2 stevia, almond milk, soy milk, other milks, or regular sugar. And the baristas are usually pretty friendly and love to have small talk. It’s a fun environment to be in and many tech folks visit this coffee shop frequently.

Philz is my favorite coffee shop, and this location is one of my favorites. They have lots of comfortable seating (those couches tho), and lots of desk space. It can get very busy in the morning, so expect a line, or simply use their app to have your order ready when you get there!

Edited 3.6.2018: Philz no longer uses Orderahead (RIP) but now uses Caviar for ordering for pickup and for delivery.

Edited 4.22.2018: Philz now has their own app for ordering ahead. I highly recommend it. It’s nicer and easier to use than the other previous apps.

Don't come here on a time crunch. I think it's a combination of the ordering process, the small waiting area and its popularity that boosts the wait time. I like to go after lunch around 1-2 pm. Everyone's obsessed with the mint mojito, and it's definitely good, but I recommend the ginger snap above all. The ecstatic is great too if you're in the mood for a standard iced coffee.

Great staff, great coffee, great tea, and a fun lively atmosphere! They also have free wifi which makes it a great place to work/study (although it isn't quiet, so keep that in mind if that's important to you). If you're unsure what to order, just tell the staff what you like, and they'll always help you pick!

Love Philz for their speciality coffee flavors and distinct additions (mint, cardamom etc).

It's coffee reimagined!

Turkish for bold coffee
Philharmonic for medium with creamy flavor
Mint mojito is a must try...

Love this place.
