Great for a light breakfast or lunch. Lots of pastry choices. The menu is posted in an awkward spot (you can't really read it while you're in line to order, in front of the pastry case) but I figured it out.
The croissants are very dense, with just a bit of flakiness and not any real crunch on the outside. Still good for a sandwich. The macchiato was nonstandard - it seemed to have cocoa powder and whipped cream on top of the normal espresso and steamed milk? It tasted good though...

I love this little bakery for it's scrumptious, beautiful dessert creations and cookies, delicious individual quiches and other non-dessert items they offer. Friendly staff, popular place, closes at 2pm, so don't wait until late day to go!

Unfortunately, I visited this bakery today to grab something quick for lunch.
The place was crowded ( it was lunchtime) with people with different approaches towards masks ( including members of staff): mask, no mask, nose out; you name it. The indoor premises are too small to ensure social distancing. Nobody seemed to care.
Ten minutes after ordering, I was told that the bread I asked for wasn't available. An additional 20 minutes later, they give me the wrong order.
Since they didn't give me any alternative apart from continuing to wait, I just asked to be refunded. I understand that some places get busy at lunch time and errors can happen but at least the member of staff could have apologised.
In summary, I wasted over 30 minutes waiting and I left hungry and frustrated. I feel like this bakery doesn't need any more clients. Avoid it if you can!

This place is bustling! There were so many people in there, I became a little bit overwhelmed. However, after discovering that there were two separate cash registers, one for people getting stuff from the bakery and the other for people ordering food, I became a little less overwhelmed. We managed to find a table inside. The food was excellent! I had the chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. I really wanted that piece of carrot cake, but knew that we were going to have dessert later on. I plan to go back in sometime and get that carrot cake!

Napoleon, strawberry cake, strawberry and raspberry croissants were awesome. Can't believe we ate this for breakfast. We used all that carbs and sugar walking around the canary row and monterey aquarium.

I went here every other week for several months and always got a dessert (usually a pastry, macaron, or croissant) and a hazelnut latte. I did notice a little bit of variance on how the latte tasted based on who made it, and a few times I think the flavoring was forgotten, but this didn't bother me that much. Overall, quality treats for a very affordable price! (Also, would highly recommend a cream cheese croissant or an apricot croissant!)

My wife and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in Monterey. The Paris Bakery is a favorite of ours and they did not disappoint. The Danish is fresh and sweet. The staff is courteous and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Lived in Monterey for a year in 2015/2016 and came to this bakery 3-4 times a week. Just drove from tacoma, WA to Monterey just to get the chocolate almond croissants here. 13 hour drive that's how good they are. Love this place.
