I really loved all the latte options and it seems like such a cool place. I ordered their breakfast cookie which was great until halfway through I found a hair in it...We were far too out of Mammoth at this point to go back, I tried finding a number to contact the shop to let them know but couldn’t find anything. Just super grossed out after that

Stopped here for a coffee and breakfast cookie with my wife. Everything was good but wasn’t the best we ever had. The atmosphere was awesome; they have such a cool vibe. The barista wasn’t the most friendly, but it could have just been a rough day. Their WiFi is top notch, though!

Delicious espresso and nice location with plenty of seating. They roast their own beans, so the take-home coffee is also great. I haven’t tried the wine bar, but the Belgian waffles are made to order. They’re an unusual texture for waffles (dense and chewy), but a good pairing with an afternoon latte.

Really good coffee. Their waffle is very good too, it has a different, chewier texture from most other waffles and I like it. Not excessively sweet. And the barista was great too!

Best coffee spot in Mammoth! Though the wait was a bit long, their coffee is top-notch. I had the best peppermint mocha I’ve ever had (really hit the spot on a snowy day). My girlfriend had an Americano, which was amazing in its quality and simplicity.

Also had a fresh made waffle, which was hot and gooey and delicious. I’ll never get coffee from anywhere else in Mammoth.

Horchata latte is delicious

Loved the horchata latte and waffle. Good ambiance. Wifi was very slow…not sure if it’s usually that bad.

I came in for a pound of coffee. Staff was slow and not particularly friendly. Long wait. Decor is 'cheap
trendy hipster", fine but a bit silly in Mammoth. Price was $14 for a pound. I brewed the coffee three times and found it poor quality. Instead of chocolate, fruit, etc notes as promised on the bag, I only got a chicory flavor. So much for overpriced coffee. I've lived in a lot of places all over and tasted a lot of coffee. I found this whole experience to be a bit insulting.

The best coffees ive ever had have been in Europe, but Black Velvet manages to deliver that quality. Thank god they’re 6 hours away, otherwise id have a serious coffee addiction. But while in Mammoth...oh boy. Lots of delicious coffees are always had.

Small portions 12oz cups. But well worth it. Best coffee in town so far. Move over Starbucks black velvet has your number. Cute and very social breista.
