Pretty cool place with a very funky and diverse menu. Service was great, the waiter was amazing with giving additional information about some of the dishes.
The food was good, but I expected a bit more flavor / experiences.

Animal is hands down one of the most unique restaurants we have ever been to. Initially we thought it was associated with the restaurant in Kenya (Carnivore) with exotic meats. Well it's not but, there are some similarities in concept however. Animal has some funky combinations and fun dishes that just work and are simply amazing! We have not been for over a year now but it it's it's def one of the most review worthy places in my lifetime :). Such a yummy place!!

Great place with fusion cuisine. Was there just before the flight from LAX so a bit in a hurry but worth checking out. Had the rib and tostada, delicious. If you are really hungry you will leave a lot of money there as portions are in tasting size.

We stumbled on this restaurant during an LA trip. We were hungry and this place had no line. Seriously lucked out. Food was AMAZING! So flavourful. Restaurant was small so it was kind of crowded, but food was great. Staff was also friendly and gave recommendations for food. Definitely hit up this restaurant if you are in the area.

Located on Melrose Place in Los Angeles, I would recommend an early evening reservation! And suggest
5 dishes, if dining for 2 and just know that the deconstructed cheesecake comes with passion fruit sorbet and will cleanse the palate too.Observed my birthday here and will never, ever forget this dining experience.
There was no long wait, waiter knew the dishes and could forecast taste delights. Each dish was prepared with love.

Animal is one of those special restaurants you definitely need to have an "occasion" to celebrate to justify being there. Well... not really but its so amazing its nice to have a reason to stroll in.
Visited with a friend and we ate our way through a good portion of the menu so saddle up for a very detailed review! Side Note: if you are Vegan or Vegetarian do not come here. You'll leave hungry.
Before I get stuck into the courses I have to say- this restaurant is divine. From the tasteful yet simple decor to the expensive hand soap in the bathrooms you can tell that a lot of love went into creating a space where the delicious dishes that Animal's Chef whipped up are to be consumed.
Okay... to the food.
Chicken Hearts w. Pomegranate: I never thought I'd say it but dayum I'm converted! Beautiful dish that was light yet tasty. I cannot believe how much I loved this!
Chicken Liver Toasty: The chicken liver was beautifully seasoned and the toast was divine. Again- very light but satisfying. Great flavours.
Pig Ear: I was a little freaked out at first but the texture was super crispy and the flavour exploded in my mouth! No wonder it has been on the menu for so long!
Hamachi Tostada: Again- divine.
Look- we ordered around 10 things and each one was more delicious than the last. There is not one thing on this menu that is sub-par. Do yourself and favour and go eat at Animal.

OMG...if you are a foodie visiting or living in the LA area, and you havent gone here....you are missing out!!!! We had chicken liver on toast, it had a balsalmic reduction with chives and I think sauteed onion in a sticky roll on top. We ordered the pigs ear...interesting take, ear was fried, which kind of kills the chewy texture I have enjoyed from other pig ear in the past, but certain bits were very delicious. the veal carpaccio ( yes...eating veal is bad...but why did they make it so good!!!) ...which everyone should order because it was like heaven on a plate...i could have eaten 4 plates of this and just called it good. I may have to say the best carpaccio I have had, or tied...with kangaroo carpaccio from zachs bistro...but either way...everyone should try it the flavor profile is amazing....dont forget to try a little of the meat by itself because it is so fresh and delicate the other things do blend with it a little too well. We had the veal tongue...such a pretty presentation, but was pretty disappointed because with all the "stuff" it could have been spam, and unfortunately our last dish...the smoked salmon roe on a piece of croutons was the saving grace of this dish. And next to last we had the sweetbreads...i will say definitely best sweetbreads I have eaten, French style rather than the traditional western complimented this delicate cut of meat perfectly with a nice picatta flare. This is also a restaurant that knows its shiz, they have a cappacino machine...and its not an Italian eatery...so after dinner digestion was complete! We did have dessert, but since I didnt take a pic of the menu, we wont discuss, but it was good...not amazing, but pretty good all the same. ( would have rather had another order of the carpaccio...but I wasnt the only one there😂)
Parking may be an issue, but a local bakery/ restaurant has a parking lot down the way where if you stop in and get a couple things they can validate your parking...and their pastries are delicious!!!!😜

I was told this restaurant is one of the best in LA, especially in Fairfax, but I was sorely disappointed. It was difficult to get a reservation on a Monday night for a party of 4, but when I arrived the restaurant was only half-full. The server was helpful in helping us choose what to order and we ended up deciding on the marrow bone, pork ribs, and the rabbit larb. I was so excited to try this very unique take on fusion food and I was underwhelmed. Animal pushed too hard on both the fusion end and the minimalist end so what came out was a dish that was seasoned/cooked poorly and difficult to eat. Their wine selection is solid and I think I enjoyed my glass of red more than anything I ate there. That being said, if you want an adventurous meal, go to Animal (but maybe have a backup just in case you leave hungrier than you arrived).

One of our LA staples. Food is sensational. Family style with a wide variety of meats. Standout dishes include chicken liver toast and beef tendon chips. Setting is not the warmest and the wine menu is very pricey. Stick to IPAs.

I would highly recommend the chicken liver toast, marrow bone and the burger. The pig ears would be a great choice for first timer. I will be back for sure! I really enjoyed all the dishes. There is street parking.
