Great experience! It's a 5 out of 5. Food was amazing; an explosion in your mouth with every mouth watering bite & the service was top notch. Very very attentive. The only downside was that the music was a bit too loud for my taste making it difficult to have conversation.

$$/$$$ - Animal Restaurant
Minmalist, Fancy, Nice Atmosphere, Clean, Attentive Friendly Staff.
A trendy spot for tourists.
Wide range of dishes on the menu, specialties and other meat plates to choose from.
I Finally made it here,
to try the highly recommended,
Bone Marrow.
Delicious, Very Tasty.
Enjoy this spot..

Great food, meat forward, a little self important (really pushed specials and emacs all orders at once in what is really a tapas place). Some incredible dishes - the chicken oyster yakitori is the best single dish I've had in months and the veal Tatare was incredible- but the menu has real highs and lows, and you can feel the push to turn tables.

Such a great place! We went for brunch and ordered a few items to share and they were all delicious. The hamachi dish may have been our favorite, but you cannot go wrong with anything. The burger was also incredibly tasty!

I was absolutely floored by animal. Their chefs are very creative and inventive. All three dishes I had were fantastic. I started with a rabbit cabbage wrap dish which was very spicy but good. The main was a foie gras cured in salt with rhubarb reduction, this was created by the sous chef and is really one of the best dishes I've experienced. I couldn't help myself to try the desert and wasn't disappointed with the bacon infused chocolate bar and dehydrated Nutella. I loved animal and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new, modern and adventurous dining experience.

If you want to see full review....Yelp animal. I will sum it up. Took my mom on her birthday. The food we were allowed to be served was amazing. There is a misnomer on the bottom of the plate that they will make no substitution. My mom lets the waiter know that she's allergic to cucumbers. We ordered a 5 plates. After 2 plates(15 min) ,the waiter comes out and tells my mom that he forgot that the quail that there was a cucumber (not on the menu)garnish on the plate. My mom asked if they could just bring the cucumber on another plate. They said no. The waiter was very disrespectful and arrogant. After my mom complained the waiter told us that "the restaurant was full and they will continue to be full so they don't have to make concessions. I was planning to go to
Son of a gun also....not now. Food was great. But service is also part of the experience And it was awful. Will not return.

If you're a meat lover, this would be the place for you. I was hesitant to try it out because I'm not necessarily a meat LOVER, but I did. I was NOT disappointed! We tried a good mix of things from the menu, and everything was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend this place, even if you aren't a meat lover, you may become one after trying this place!

Had the chicken heart, pig ear and the yellowtail collar.
All the meats were well cooked, but a pity that everything was doused in acidity which overpowered the entire dish. This is especially so for the yellow tail collar, where I wished that vinaigrette would be spooned on top of the fish instead of like a broth, which is too acidic for my liking.
I went on a Monday evening, and service was underwhelming where it seemed that only the manager was the one taking orders and handling the bills, while the rest were in charge of serving dishes, wiping plates and clearing plates.

"A great concept that is missing something" is how I can refer to this place. Let's elaborate a little more.
Service wise these guys were great. Attentive, fast, lots of plate changes, cordial and knowledgable. Well done on their staff
The ambiance is good.a bit on the dark side which sometimes makes the visuals of the presentations not pop. Small and intimate place. However, they could keep up a bit more with the restroom. It was a bit messy.
Good location. Close to a lot of different bars and shop add up to the experience.
However, this is a restaurant and they should be evaluated by their food and that was average. Other than the steak, the rest was from mediocre to meh to ok but never surprised me. Sad to say, the food was missing flavor because presentation was spot on. I think the hype may be hurting this place a bit. A cool concept with great execution yet missing that kicker called flavor.

One of the best places in LA. The chicken liver toast is great along with the burger that is off the menu. The hamachi tostada is a perfect balance of flavor combinations. I will keep coming back until I try everything on the menu.
