Super tasty drinks and delicious food!
Stopped by this morning and tried their special ogreat latte and some hazelnut toast. Super tasty and the barista was so nice.

Excellent coffee. Similar in quality to something like Intelligentsia. Something we've needed in Long Beach for a while. Nice interior as well. The only thing I'd suggest is longer hours. As of this review they close at 6pm M-R, 7pm F-Su. I'd love a place like this for evening reading/studying.
But hey, here's the gist: If you've been waiting for good coffee to come to Long Beach, it has arrived!

This is a relatively new shop that is in the space where Nix Check Cashing used to be. The building is older style architecture and is right across the street from The old Acres of Books building. It is also 2 doors down from a wonderful classic building from the 1920's, the golden era of Long Beach.
They have delicious items on the menu for breakfast and lunch and they also have Vegan donuts if you just want a snack with your coffee. They also have pour-over rigs for making individual servings of coffee.

After a few visits I can say I am a fan. Very friendly and helpful staff, consistently delicious and quality coffee, good vibes all around. Its not my regular coffee shop, but I have found myself coming here more often recently...

Music is played excessively loud which makes conversation much more difficult to the person across you, paired with other people trying to talk over each other. Keep in mind, the floors magnifies the already ‘loud’ music as sound does bounce; Items are highly priced, for instance 2 mini vegan donuts is a bit over 6 bucks. It’s a hit or miss, some days are quiet but when it’s loud, it becomes very loud. I would recommend cafe bene in Long Beach for a much more quieter experience.

Excellent service, coffee and food. The iced coffee was mellow and very clearly not hot brewed. The nutella toast was chewy, chocolaty, and delicious

Cool spot in the downtown LBC to grab a quick coffee. They do have some lite food items if you're a bit hungry. I had their honey vanilla latte. Good taste. Not too sweet

Took 10 minutes to get 2 small mochas. A couple ordered 2 drinks before us and everyone else already had their drinks. Barrista spent most of the time chit chatting with coworkers. Good coffee, just not worth the long wait

Visiting friends in LB. Desperate for coffee on Thanksgiving morning, I drove downtown and found Recreational. Solid espresso pulls. Had a great 8oz americano with a thick crema, a matcha donut and a sausage egg muffin. Friendly staff. No street parking but there is a public garage next door. Free WiFi.

The absolute best coffee in Los Angeles. This isn't another one of the millions of "one off coffee shops" that you see everywhere that just serves Stumptown Coffee. Recreational coffee roasters their own coffee, and it is sooooo fantastic. Get a pour over of whatever sounds good to you! As if the coffee wasn't good enough, they have nice, fast, free WiFi and super friendly staff. Oh yeah, don't forget to grab a bag of beans to go.
