Bird Rock Coffee Roasters - La Jolla

Honestly, it breaks my heart everytime I go in there and give it another try. This place used to be the top roaster and coffee shop in San Diego. It was the perfect spot to grab a latte before surfing. Such a beautiful atmosphere and location. It just isn't the same since new ownership. Yes, their roasted beans and coffee drinks are good, but the customer service, food, and pasteries are on par with Starbucks.

I also made the mistake of ordering their tea latte once, and it was absolutely awful. It was more like lightly tea flavored milk for $7 (16oz (should have been 12oz), soy, + $1 tip). As a server, I'm usually patient when it comes to customer service and mistakes. When I confronted the girl at the counter about my drink she gave me some bag of excuses and I just walked out. I didn't care about the money, just wanted something nice to drink while to watch the sunset. No more.

Great atmosphere - good place to get work done. Enjoyed the coffe and tea - staff were friendly!

Coffee is amazing! I highly recommend coming here as the coffee and pastries are delicious. The staff are also really friendly! Overall 5 stars with I could rate it more!

The coffee is rich in flavor and delightfully aromatic, walking distance to shops, restaurants, a 2 mile trail and beautiful beaches. What more could you want?

Bird Rock Coffee is so good and I love that they have house-made syrups! My iced honey-cinnamon coffee was delicious!

Ok bird rock is still a San Diego fave! I love their coffee but it’s becoming a bit too city of an environment what I mean by that is busy and in and out. But that’s just me I’m more of a hole in the wall experience type of guy

That nitro cold brew tho 🤌🏾 don’t sleep on it.

I'm impressed with the level of knowledge the people have about their coffee beans here! The taste of this coffee is quite different from Starbucks. The prices are on par with Starbucks but I feel that the coffee here is special. There is a good amount of variety of their beans here. I had a medium roast...which actually has more a floral aroma to it. Yum!

I like the fact that each bag of beans states that the growers are treated ethically. Kudos!

It's a short walk to the beach and has outdoor seating.
