Sorry to say coffee taste was not good. Not sure if regular coffee waiting there to much, was not fresh at all, could not drink it.

Busy place on a Sunday morning. Seems to be very popular. Grabbed a latte and their version of breakfast burritos to go. (They call them something different). My latte was very good, on the lighter for coffee flavor but very smooth and creamy. My wife really liked her breakfast burritos. Would recommend.

I live in SLO and I come down regularly to visit my family in La Jolla. I ALWAYS stop in the La Jolla BRCR because the people that work there are amazing and the coffee and treats are the best!!!!!! The best coffee shop ever! It’s number 1 on my list!!!!

Far and away the most superior coffee in all of San Diego. The bean variety is wonderful, their assortment of drinks has something to offer for everyone, and their staff is knowledgeable.

Summary: Bird Rock is a fantastic coffee shop that is made a little complicated by the potential challenge of parking. Other than the parking though (which is really just a challenge of everything in La Jolla), Bird Rock is exceptional. The coffee is on point, the baristas are helpful and knowledgable, and there seems to be enough seating to get some work done if you need to. If you’re in the La Jolla area and looking for coffee, whether to-go or to sit with, I’d say Bird Rock is a solid choice.
Thoughts: It had been a while since we were near San Diego, but last time we were here we loved Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, though it was a different location, so we decided to give this one a shot. As usual parking was a little bit of a challenge, which is really just a constant factor in La Jolla, but it wasn’t too bad and we managed to grab a spot about two blocks away.
The short walk was more than worth the wait. Bird Rock has never failed to live up to expectations; the coffee is amazing and the baristas know their stuff. They’re both friendly and able to provide insight into their different offerings. We settled on an Ecuadorian pour over and a single origin espresso and tonic and loved both of them. The coffee at Bird Rock is the hero and well worth the trip.
It also helps that they have enough seating that you can get some work done if that’s what you’re looking for. My wife and I stayed for a few hours just to knock out some tasks before diving into vacation (aka hiking) mode and it was helpful to find a killer coffee shop to do it at.

Really enjoyed the honey b. I read others reviews that more honey is needed if you want it sweeter. I didnt ask for any as I wanted to taste it as-is. I think the drink needs the extra honey. I ended up getting more honey and it made the drink perfect. My husband got the dark chocolate mocha and he said it was good and became better after he took the rest of my extra honey. My son tried left coast and he said it was good and sweet. Will def be back.

I love it here. People are nice and coffee is great. Nothing bad about this place at all. I came here seeking a wake-me-up and was pleased with the outcome.
The service was very friendly and they took the time to help me figure out what tea flavor I wanted for my tea latte (they have a many options). I ended up getting a peony tea latte which gave a flowery taste to the latte, which I liked very much. I also ordered the trophy wife (macadamia nut latte) which was very rich in taste as well. I liked everything I got.
Anytime you're looking for good coffee and and a friendly atmosphere, this is the place for you.

Very bad and rude service, we ordered 3 pumpkin spiced drinks, after waiting for 15min the barista just gave one and totally forgot about the other 2, we waited for the other 2 drinks for another 15 mins and then when we asked him about the other 2 his response was we only got charged for 1, but in fact we did get charged for all 3, we were then forced to prove that we were charged for all 3 buy finding our recipt, luckily we had it email to us when we placed the order.
This was not the worst part though,, I would have honestly ignored this incident if the batista recognized his mistake and would be a bit empathetic to the customers experience, I would have chalked it down as a human error, but the barista seemed least bit concerned about our bad experience and when we reminded him that we were waiting for a long time for our drinks his response was "ooh good for you then".
We used to love this coffee place but after this experience I do not think I would come back to this place ever again
