Cool little shack on the side of the road and there’s a tree right next to you. They fortified the walls outside the patio area... probably because it’s on the side of a steep mountain and they don’t want people falling to their deaths. So not much to look at but still a pretty cool place for a quick bite to eat. The coffee is unique and the French toast is heavenly.

I meet my boss here once a month as it's half way between my house and hers. We are usually the only ones here right when they open. The service is friendly and efficient and the food is fresh, quick and reasonably priced.

This had to be the single worst experience regarding the level of servicing and an absence of welcoming atmosphere. I wish I could comment on the food. However, we simply couldn’t get past the rude temperament of the what appears to be an owner. And to be quite honest with you, I truly sensed an air of racism. My husband, I and our three children walk in expecting to be greeted by someone or anyone, though we found ourselves greeting the owner and seating ourselves. He had little enthusiasm for our presence. When I sent my son to the bathroom, it wasn’t easily accessible seeing as he had to ask the owner to unlock the door. I’m not sure what kind of customers or foot traffic they see around here but I’d imagine if you have patrons and only a handful of staff members, you’d be too busy to open a door to the bathroom for a patron.
When I reminded my son to wash his hands (7 years old), we had to request he open the door again. When he came to take our order, I turned away to ask my son to settle down for literally a second. The man walked away and threw his paper on the counter as though he were frustrated that he had to wait for even a second for me to manage my child so that I could place our order. His response was totally outrageous. We’ve been here visiting California for a month now. Not once have we experienced such poor hospitality. If we’re here to provide patronage and give you our money, you’d think one would have a little more patience, kindness and welcoming demeanor than this person displayed. Not to mention small mom and pops are usually the best experiences. What a disappointment.

We were the only ones in there and got great service, great food. Simple traditional breakfast perfectly prepared.

Best food ever! Husband said it was the best chili burger he's ever had. Great environment, and parking. Located off Hwy 50 on the way to Tahoe.

Best hash browns I've had in a long time! Eggs are always hard to get exactly right, as I prefer runny yolk and a set white. They almost got it exactly right. The bacon was as good as precooked bacon can be.

This place has the best breakfast hands down. There were 7 of us and everything was cooked perfectly. The taste was perfect, and the food was picture perfect. Service was a little slow but definitely worth the wait. Compliments to the chef!! Yum! I will be returning on my next trip to tahoe.
