Devout Coffee

Good atmosphere, easy to find parking. Coffee is okay and no indoor seating. Worth working there though. Wi-Fi didn’t work either.

This place is awesome! I found it via IG and tried for months to stop in while driving through the area. Once I finally made it I was super happy. The staff that day were wonderful. They explained everything I asked expertly and when I got my order it was excellent. I usually order espresso at specialty coffee places. Theirs is perfection. I savored every drop. Their spot offers outdoor seating and even has pastries and other bites to go with your coffee. They have a minimalist style with tons of beautiful plants. If you’re into antiques the town is littered with them.

The espresso is awesome here good extraction and the coffee beans are roasted there very peculiar flavor, really good baristas very nice and they know their thing, latte art is neat too!
The bad thing is they don't have savory food just pastries but thay is ok. The place has a patio to sit and enjoy

We came to Devout excited to start our morning with awesome coffee. Unfortunately our experience was terrible! The young girl working by the register who was concentrating on her pour over did not realize I was standing there for almost 5mins before she said anything. There were only 4 people total in the coffee shop. The least she could have done was acknowledged my husband and I. Then after spending $38+$5 tip she forgot to give my husband his simple black coffee. We waited 20 mins but no black coffee. We don’t mind waiting for good coffee and service. But dang 20 mins for black coffee?!!! Even after confronting her the only thing she said was it was a mistake. Yes, mistake happens and anyone and everyone is allowed to make them. But learn to apologize when your mistake was pointed out to you. We like Devout and had many good experiences in the past at the coffee shop. But this morning’s experience set us off. Probably would not be back and will encourage friends and family who love coffee not to patronize in this coffee shop. I hope the manager(s)/owners read this review and do a retraining on customer service with the staff. I was there the other night just before closing. The staff was polite and did not give me attitude despite it being 10 mins to closing. I appreciated it so much. But this morning’s experience not so much

Is the coffee good? Who knows! There were 4 staff behind the counter (about 6 feet from me), deep in a profound discussion about how exactly to brew coffee. I was the only customer waiting to order. The staff ignored me, so I gave up and left without ordering.
Apparently brewing coffee is an arcane process that needs the highly focused consideration of 4 people. Actually selling said coffee would only take one person, but there was no one trained in that specialty at the time of my visit.

So traditional coffee in entire bay area...love the ambience and environment.

Decided to try out this local Fremont spot and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. While the bags of coffee beans can get expensive they will provide you with a very smooth, delicious cup. The in-person store is at a great location and has a number of rotating specials. I tried an espresso con panna which was delightful to consume.

One of my favorite spots for coffee in the area! Slayer espresso is amazing - I always order the 10oz. Definitely worth stopping if you're around Niles.

Incredibly tart espresso. I get it though, it’s not the specialty. Their other coffee drinks, on the other hand, are quite tasty. The long line for these drinks makes sense every single time we’re here.
