Restaurant sits in an old post office and has some cool decor within. Menu was pretty standard but they did have some fun specials and customizable options. I had an omelet and don't have any complaints about it. They had three different hot sauces on the table which was great. They put the check on three different cards which was nice. They also offered a coffee to go since we had purchased one with breakfast.

If they allow indoor seating AND improve their coffee/give a few espresso/mocha options, I’d give 5 stars. Would be a cool spot if I didn’t have to eat in a parking lot.

Nice outdoor seating area and staff, but that’s about it. $18 for crab Benedict that was mushy and bland. Waaay undercooked potatoes. Undercooked biscuit. Everything was a similarly soft texture. My comment to my husband sums it up - “everything on this plate tastes the same.” When you notice yourself smothering everything in hot sauce and ketchup to add flavor that’s when something isn’t right.
The portions are giant but unexciting.

The menu can be overwhelming as there are MANY options, but lots of good ones to choose from. Pancakes are good, omelets are good, and you can create your own. I love that this is walking distance from our cabin as the portions are huge, so a little walk after breakfast is necessary to avoid food coma.

Always great food. Definitely different because of social distancing but still one of the best breakfast places in Tahoe.

Great food and nice people. Their specials on their white board are in permanent ink, as they haven't changed in years but I wouldn't think of them changing unless they were added to the menu. The Chicken Fried Steak Omlet and the Country Benedict are to die for.

Great food and friendly service. A bit understaffed but we all know why and they are working through it.

My family and I came to this restaurant and were greeted with a negative attitude. When asked about the number of people in the party, we said five. The older man greeting, gave us a nasty look and repeated the number with a pugnacious attitude. We immediately felt completely uncomfortable but decided to wait a little anyways. Realizing that we weren't welcomed there, we decided to leave.
Hope no one else has an experience like this.

My dad and I ate at the Old Post office twice a week since the early 1980s until the day he passed away a week ago I will make sure to keep up the tradition with my children cuz there's no better place to eat than the old post office.
