Pleasantly surprised, the food is great! I actually LOVED their soup of the day (veggie with beef)! We had a lot of food (portions are big for omelette, pancakes, etc) for a total of $22 😃

known for it's fish and chips and they do it right. fish is always cooked perfect with fries and Cole slaw. chicken fried chicken with cream country gravy and hash browns is good as is the french dip. probably the best pancakes in town.

The food is amazing here, as the service not so well. My mother & I came here for lunch and we were completely ignored the entire time. A party of 9 came in about 10 min after us, and they were serviced very quickly. I don’t ever pull the race card, but In this case I strongly believe race was a big reason to why we weren’t being served. We were sat down for about 15 minutes with no menus, I had made eye contact with the waitress several times and once I got up she said she was going to take our order and did not come back. Everyone in that cafe was being served and having a great time while my mother & myself were completely ignored and brushed off as if we weren’t there at all. I won’t ever come here again & I will let all my friends and family know as well so they don’t have to endure a horrible experience as we did.

Best fish. Ordered and had food almost immediately. Not crowed at time we went so it was as romantic as you want for a Valentine's dinner date.

Who needs to go to the beach when you can get excellent fish and chips in Bakersfield. Seriously, this is legit good fish. Not frozen or excessive seasoning to disguise the bad stuff that other places serve. Come here for the real deal and enjoy the rest of their food too if you're not in a fishy mood.

The waitresses who worked the AM shift today, 1/19/2023 should be fired. Very unattentive and seemed to dismiss me even when I was seated at the counter. The cook had to serve my meal when he noticed by completed order sitting on the counter for approximately 5 minutes while the waitress walked past it and stood idle by the cask register. I've eaten here before and enjoy the food but this quality of service is deplorable. Hope I never encounter these two women again.

Old diner feel, simple delicious food. One of the best pancakes in town. They are fluffy and not super sweet like at IHOP.

Amazing food. Amazing service. It reminds me of an old 50s diner and I love it. The owner is so sweet. The food is fast and excellent. Will return for another yummy lunch
