24th Street Cafe

Surprisingly excellent service here for a small restaurant. The food tastes home made and the best of all. Reasonably priced, not expensive at all. I always like to try each restaurants version of French toast. This restaurant's French toast is delicious comes with bacon and maple syrup. It was a really great experience, and I would recommend this place for breakfast.

I came here last Sunday and had some late breakfast with some of my friends from my Highschool days.. We knew if we met up anywhere it was gonna be here. I actually hadn't been back here since I moved out in the Roasedale area in 2005.. So I was happy to come back. I met my friends and we had a great time.. THANK YOU TO THE GUY WHO SEATED US ... GAVE US SOME FRIED OKRA since my buddy waited outside for our table for 10 minutes plus.. We all enjoyed what we ordered.. I had my favorite, Chicken fried Steak with hash browns & 2 over easy eggs. Cooked to perfection.. just like I remembered from decades past. I see now they have added a extra dinning area which was pretty cool. 4 buddies who graduated 30 years ago June 5, 1992 came together for a meal in the only place that made sense.. 24th street cafe.. All our food was excellent and just like I remembered from my childhood. It may take many more years before we all come together again in life... and if we do.. 24th street Cafe is our only meeting place for some great food and service. Friends in my life are very special and it was great to see you and share a meal here at this restaurant 😋... They staff were great and even let us visit eachother till they closed at 2:30 pm.. we were the last ones there.

Triple D sent us here! The pumpkin pancakes were delicious! However, they were a little too sweet and I ultimately had to share them.

It’s definitely a cozy spot with most of their booths being a little too small for the average person.

It was a busy weekend and our only service complaint was that we did not get refills in a timely manner.

Great find on the way back to the Bay area! Food is delicious and very good service too. The trout is fantastic!

24th Street Cafe has been a staple in Bakersfield for over 30 plus years. They are open for breakfast and lunch only.
24th Street Cafe is in the top 5 places to eat breakfast at in Bakersfield. Lunches are equally as good.
I’ve eaten here numerous times over the years, they have consistently been served fresh, hot and delicious. Everything is always great.
Most of the waitress’s have worked here for years. Donna was my waitress and she did an outstanding job.

The design of this place is awesome. Great service and beautiful waitresses. The food was amazingly good 😊

Great food! Amazing pan fried tilapia. The salmon was just as amazing.
Was a little annoying when the server wouldn't ask for refills on the drinks, and you had to constantly call for her even when the place wasn't busy and she was just "chilling" with other servers.

The 24th Street Cafe is my go-to spot for breakfast in Bakersfield. I sit up at the counter and Donna always takes the best care of me, keeping my coffee cup full. I’m a creature of habit so I don’t usually stray from my scrambled eggs, sausage patty, potatoes and toast but the other things I’ve had have been great too!

Very very great place I highly recommend it’s clean fast and fresh! They serve good drinks and really good coffee! Staff is amazing! Overall a great time and a happy stomach.

I have been there a few times with friends for lunch and breakfast.
I have had the patty melt. Not much flavor in the patty & even the rye bread didn't have much flavor..
The breakfast was boring. Had pancake 🥞 & biscuits & gravy
The gravy was the only thing very good. Won't go back
