Passing through on the 99. 1st timer. PUMPKIN PANCAKES - a must! Has pecan butter on top. No syrup needed - delicious. My mom and I split them (2 big pancakes) and the mashed potato and eggs plate. Dad says the Chile verde omelette has a slight hint of spice to it. Not overwhelming but good (coming from my Mexican dad) - Amelia our waitress was great. She split up our plates for us, without asking. Love that. Hubby had a very fresh chicken fried steak. And the biscuits are light, airy, and crumbly and delicious with the gravy. Highly recommend to get a few different plates and share. Check out the specials. A definite must if you are trying to visit cafes that were on the show “Diners, drive-ins, and Dives” Come hungry.

I will always recommend this place for anybody who is visiting Bakersfield or lives in Bakersfield. They got really good breakfast and lunch, everything I have tasted from here is great 👍 Highly recommend the pumpkin pancakes 🥞

I can only say one thing. GO TO THE 24TH STREET CAFE! Unfortunately I accidentally deleted the photos. But GO.
I recommend the Fried Trout and Eggs. It is SOOOOO good. I am drooling just thinking about it.
Try the cold Tri-Tip Sandwich. Great!
Had to get the biscuits and gravy also.
Once again I went to the 24th Street Cafe.
Once again it was EXCELLENT.
I had the American Omelet, fried potatoes and of course Biscuits and Gravy.
The Omelet was perfect.
The potatoes crisp and hot .
The Biscuits and Gravy DIVINE.
What more could a person want at breakfast..
Oh, wait. I almost forgot about Donna, my server.
Donna always works the counter. Not only is she an excellent server, she is very nice.
If you don't sit at the counter, make sure to say hi anyways.

The steak & eggs are my favorite. The garlic butter that comes on the steak is amazing, I love the vibe of the café. Very old fashioned & the host Jacob is so sweet!

Very unsuspecting Resturant for my first time. I didn’t know what to expect looking at the place from the outside, but once I stepped in all of my concerns drifted away! Fabulous menu, great service and the Cajun Omelette I had was most exceptional!

We stopped here after leaving Lightning in a Bottle festival on a Sunday morning. It was legitimately the best classic breakfast place I’ve ever been to. The cinnamon roll pancakes are fluffy and delicious. The eggs are perfectly cooked. Nothing has too much sugar or too much salt. And Naomi, our server, was great. Highly recommend.

Quick stop for breakfast before heading back to Vegas. Pretty busy restaurant and I'm glad I got to dine here (cause of the raving reviews on Yelp.)
I sat at the bar so it was quick in/out.
I didn't want anything heavy so I ordered the French toast with 2 pieces of bacon. The French toast was delicious and I loved the top melted butter. Not a long wait for the food which is great.
My server was Amanda and she was very nice and pleasant.
Definitely a restaurant I'd recommend for Brunch.
