This was my first time at this neat nostalgic gem. I was part of a large group eating breakfast. The wait staff did a great job taking care of us and getting our meals to us in a timely fashion. I ordered a fried egg on top of tortilla with hash browns. I think it came out really good. The eggs were cooked great and the hash browns were cooked to a wonderful crispiness on the outside and yet super tender on the inside. I will definitely be coming back, this was really good. I also should commend the staff even further. They did a really great job working together and making my group was taken care of. It's unusual to never have an empty coffee cup, but they pulled it off. I can't wait to go back and try their lunch specials..... On a side note, this place is packed with a lot of nostalgic items. One thing that really stood out to me was an old fire engine pedal car, I wish I had one as a kid, it looks really awesome.

I stopped here on the way from Yosemite to LA. Both service and food were excellent. The interior is classic diner, and as a tourist from Europe I loved the authenticity of this place. Manager greeted regulars personally. Our sandwiches were excellent - like homemade. Definitely a place I will return to whenever I drive through Bakersfield.

This place is the best. Believe all the terrific reviews.
Naomi, our server at the counter was so attentive and wick getting our order to us. Our coffee never dipped more that a quarter down before we got a refill.
We had the trout, cinnamon roll(yes, it's covered in butter), and strawberry crepes. We had lots of leftovers but we were just stuffed!!
This is a definite winner!!!

Wife and I are huge Food Network watchers and Guy Fieri fans. I always plug in places I want to visit and 24th Street Cafe was one I had saved because I’m a big Chili Lover. Had the Texas Size with Onion, wife had the Pastrami Sandwich on Sour Dough with fries. Place has an zing feel to it, nostalgic decor with a super staff. Jacob was our server and had great suggestions for us but mine was set on Chili. Glad we were able to make the trip after seeing Triple D and the Chili made here. Food was fantastic, super clean place and easy to find.

Feel: Marvelous brekky food in a traditional 50-60s diner style.
Pro tip: If you go on a Sunday you will encounter the intense church masses but just say you're cool with bar seats and you'll sit in 10-15 mins even during peak breakfast hour.
The food: classic but effective dishes from the best French dip you'll ever have to the homemade peanut butter made for you on the spot with their vintage machine. It's cool to see.
The service: above average and solid kindness from servers. They are genuinely good people.
Conclusion: go this Sunday or die in depression eating your cereal and grilled cheese at home.

One of the best places in Bakersfield for brunch and breakfast. We usually go here on Sundays and it’s always busy and there is at least about 20 minutes of wait time. But the food is delicious and worth the wait, if you’re flexible and don’t wanna wait too long there’s always room at the counter which what we usually pick. The Cajun seafood is delicious, definitely recommend this place.

Brought my aunt and wife to breakfast here and had one of the most amazing breakfast experiences ever. We were very lucky to arrive when we did. We were seated quickly and well taken care of by Clarinda. She was courteous and quick, accommodating and helpful, friendly and professional. Food was abundant in portions and flavorful. This is my new Bakersfield breakfast spot. Don't get here too late or expect a wait.

To be honest, it's one of the Best restaurants in Bakersfield. The steak is pretty good, and the omelet was awesome. If you have any chance to visit Bakersfield, you should try it.

Would drive down this street on a daily, decided to stop by and give it a try. The space is a bit small for a large group like mine. I highly recomend the pastramy sandwich and the thunderbird sandwich but a breakfast MUST is the cinnamon role with whipped butter its busy in the morning so if you dont want to wait go around 11ish... but def def will come back
