Excellent service, excellent food. I was very impressed with the service considering we had a table of 18 and 2 babies. The staff handled us not only with great care and patience, but also with warm vibes and a smile. The food looked and smelled great. We ordered from all over the menu from avocado egg toast to the Vig burger etc. All were on point. Everyone our party was satisfied. The ambiance was excellent and the place was immaculate including the bathrooms. I highly recommend the Vig. The experience reflects the excellent management.

my mom and her friend went here last night and got food poisoning. some of the reviews on here are pretty concerning i hope they are practicing health safety standards, and serving fully cooked sea food. one said that the owner (ceasar) was disrespectful but I think they got replaced with someone else, I sure hope they did. a disrespectful manager/owner being unprofessional towards staff, and having behaviour problems despite not being a teenager or toddler is why restaurants fail. you have to respect staff just like you would customers to keep the thing running smoothly. if you have seen bar rescue, or gordon ramsay’s shows about restaurants you would know what i’m talking about. my mom has gotten food poisoning many times before and I don’t know what caused it this time but i’m gonna assume the kitchen didn’t mean for it to happen because if there is a different owner now they must just be getting back into the groove of things and any food that was undercooked or whatever went unnoticed and was not purposeful? and was definetly not purposeful if Ceasar is still there pressuring his staff and treating them like slaves as someone else’s review said. that being said I also hope none of the food is expired in the back and still being served. I’m just trying to think of what could have cause my mom and her friend to get sick. please enlighten me.

Food menu was different and fantastic as far as flavoring and seasoned food. Drinks were innovative and tasted great also. Great selection. Only reference was cooking meat to the desired order, medium well was enough pink to change categories 2x. But was still good nonetheless.

I wanted to like it here so badly. I came with an excited and open mind to see how this beloved Vig location would be repurposed. I immediately loved the interior design and overall vibe. The tentatively soft-spoken hostess was sweet, but clearly did not have a grasp of what was going on in the restaurant or how to properly give wait times to prospective guests. I saw her lose a four top over this.
My first glimpse of the menu was like a painful jab to my wallet’s sternum, but I’m willing to overlook high price points for flavor and innovation. Sadly, what I ended up trying championed neither.
First, I’d say the menu was lacking a point of view. After scanning the rather scant and astronomically priced food items, I was disappointed when the other side of my menu was blank (*three* pizza options? C’mon).
Is this supposed to be a tapas joint? Charcuterie? Pizza? Pasta? The ‘modern take on comfort food’ branding seemed to imply more of a vintage mid-century modern American fare representative of the neighborhood in which it resides, but the menu seemed to be more of a mishmash sample platter of everything but. I wish I had looked at it before I walked in, as I would have likely avoided giving my business altogether.
I still tried to stay positive - maybe the dishes themselves would make up for the lack of variety and affordability. Spoiler alert: I was mistaken.
My partner and I decided to start with one of the cheaper ‘small plates’ which were the Polenta Fries that clocked in at a cool $13USD. Now I love tapas, but the great tapas places I’ve been to not only tend to have lower prices and more options, but if the portions are small they tend to pack a punch. Therefore, my heart only slightly sank when our delightfully manic server waltzed over with what looked like six or seven over-baked artisanal tater tots piled next to a cup of tomato sauce.
I thought this had to taste exceptional, but when I bit into the first ‘fry’ I experienced a bland porridge-like consistency that was so soggy it couldn’t really stay in fry form. I held out hope for the accompanying dipping sauce, but to my dismay this was also offensively flavorless.
After the fries being such a bust, I wasn’t going to risk spending $21 dollars on the Steak Tartare (which sounded pretty good but I guess I’ll never know), so we decided to move on to the pizzas.
Our options? Meat, Margherita, or mushroom. I’m a huge fan of truffle, so I was immediately drawn to the ‘Funghi’ ($17) and my partner who could not find a single appetizing thing on the menu settled for the ‘Three Little Pigs’ ($19). At least this should be somewhat hearty, we thought. It’s hard to mess up pizza.
After a bit too long of a wait (but an exceptional dirty martini), the pizzas finally arrived. They looked just slightly larger than a dominoes personal pan, and the cheese on the Funghi had a weird coagulated consistency that almost looked like it had been microwaved. The crust - or rather, suggestion of a crust - was slightly burnt and hard around the perimeter, but so soggy and undercooked underneath that when I lifted any slice of either pie, all of the contents immediately slid off.
I could barely taste any truffle on the Funghi, and the leek and celery which were a great idea in theory rendered it more of a pesto flavor than anything else. It ultimately just tasted too salty.
The three little pigs was just a sloppy version of your standard meat lovers pizza.
The sad truth is that for a literal fraction of the price spent on these entire pizzas we could have enjoyed one (1) slice each from the fabulous Artichoke Pizza just up the street that would have been far superior in both flavor and portion.
God bless whoever spent $24-32 dollars on the pitiful charcuterie board I glanced at on my way out of the restaurant.
In short, I think there is a lot of potential here for this killer location, but the quality of the food simply did not match the price point.
As for the $14 dollar cocktails? Maybe they are great, but I was too afraid to risk it.
A Genuine robbery.

I love the Vig. This location is very low key and tucked in a busy area by comparison.
This was the first place I ever had shashito peppers and now I make them at home once a week! The club sandwich is awesome. The Mac and cheese is also good. The wings are sticky sweet and crispy. Great for a date night or a few drinks and snacks before hitting the town.
