I’m a local and usually eat in the Caboose. Many of the waitstaff are long-term employees. This is comfort food. I really enjoy their halibut strips and they are great at accommodating special requests. Shout out to Shelley and Patrick- they always know how I like my Bloody Mary’s and they are super kind and accommodating when we bring in a group of 10 people for Sunday brunch. Good people.

This place is so dirty, it's absolutely unhealthy. Smells of cigarette smoke in the hallways. The floors in the restaurant are just gross. I will never stay at that place again. 😒

There is a very rude heavy set lady that is always on power trip. At first I thought it was just me, but I have met others that intentionally go when she is not working. Whether they are renting a room, eating at the restaurant or going to the liquor store or bar. I'm surprised she still has a job there

Good corn fritters. Prices were alittle high but a good place to go grab food in the middle of the night lol
Checked in for the night. People next to me partying really loud. Couldn't sleep and hotel would stop them. Said I could get refund but when I came to front desk to get said refund and they refused to give it. So I would not recommend staying here.

Dining available 24/7. Great food and portions are sharable.

Sat on the bar side because it was quieter and the bartender was amazing. She served us fast, checked on us just the right amount and she even brought extra jalapenos when she thought they weren't added to my buddy's food.
The food servings are huge and the price isn't that bad either.

I have personally been eating here for many years, it's a very sentimental place for me. The food is always good, never had a bad meal. My family and I stay in the hotel once a year for the State Fair and the rooms are always clean. I never eat anywhere else when I'm in Palmer. I like to hike the old railroad grade out of Palmer in the early spring or late fall, and I always eat at the Valley Hotel before the trek, it's part of the tradition!

**Unpleasant experience due to possible profiling by waitress. Unsure if this was due to us walking in wearing masks or something else. We were just 2 good-natured guys passing through Palmer on the way to Fairbanks - 5/31/21 **
I rarely leave a review like this but our treatment here left us uneasy. Right off the bat, the waitress told us the food was taking longer than usual. Ironically, everyone being seated after we arrived had their food as we struggled to get coffee refills.
How long does an omlette and meat skillet take to cook?
A table of 8 arrived after us, finished eating and left. Two other tables arrived later and our waitress even brought their food out for them.
Young Waitress: "Its going to be a LOT longer"
Us: "Ok, thank you"
Young waitress: (After stopping by to serve us more coffee, as mugs has been empty for awhile) "It's going to be a long time". Half fills my cup.
Us: "How long do you think it will be?"
Young waitress: "5 minutes"
10 minutes later, still no food. Eventually, we had to approach a manager regarding the delay. Manager was fine and said she would check into it for us. Our food magically arrived a minute later. Albeit, cold and with a number of incorrect items on the order.
A gracious 50% discount was offered on our food. We don't give a damn about 15$ after being treated as if we belong at the back of the bus. Not playing the race card but just pointing out that I'm indian and my buddy is Hispanic. In my opinion, just a disgusting display of discrimination with a smug smile

Open 24/7 which is hard to find in the MatSu valley. The Hungarian Mushroom soup is amazing! The menu is huge! The pizzas are also very tasty. Small diner atmosphere with attentive service.

Meh.
Very nice staff. Food was nothing to write home about. I was hoping for more.
Philly sandwich was disappointing. Chili tasted like it came from a can. Perhaps they just got a new cook. I'll give them another try someday. Open 24 hrs is a bonus.
