We went to Ketchikan, Alaska to eat at the NY Cafe. Pretty good fish and beer.

The New York Cafe is an intimate spot steps from the Creek Walk in Ketchikan. The food is wonderful and the beer is cold. We had the Halibut Fish and Chips and Alaskan craft brews. The service was attentive and the atmosphere was definitely one of a local spot.

The food is simple and delicious, along with the coffee. I also love the old fashioned feel of the cafe.

great beer selection and flights - very cool old vintage bar interior with huge windows and great views of the harbor and the mountains

My dad and I visited the Cafe and ordered the Salmon Fillet and the Sea Kelp Gnocchi and it was SO GOOD. We were both full but decided to split the Butterscotch Molly dessert because of the old-fashioned butterscotch and it did not disappoint...so yummy! We also had wonderful service, a great view of the docks, and some lovely artwork made by the servers and cooks to look at inside.

Zero personality towards tourist - head over heals service for the locals…. Clearly does not appreciate the tourist industry is their bread and butter… very cold… food was average but can’t enjoy the meal with such cold personalities & welcoming hospitality. In the mist of COVID you would think they would treat visitors in a much more welcoming way - couldn’t get a hello or an introduction - however, overall many establishments in Ketchikan are not very welcoming but expect to be paid and tipped…. apparently the standard of hospitality I’ve experienced in Virginia Beach and other tourist dominant areas has not reached Ketchikan - without tourist Ketchikan will sink further into economic oblivion… with the cruise industry discussions of passing by Ketchikan - you’d think they would cater more to the tourist industry - a smile and a hello goes a long way….

Lovely small, quiet cafe with lovely food and service. A pleasure to visit, anytime.
