Delicious, strong coffee and upbeat service. The barista was kind and knowledgeable about recommending a local waterfall hike. Inside of coffee room was filled with a wide ranging display of nick nacks. Overall a neat place!

Best. Coffee. Ever! So glad we stopped at The Grind for the few minutes we were in Girdwood. The barista was delightful to chat with and the Black Irish Espresso was so delicious. (It was the brew of the day, I did not order it as an espresso or Americano.) I can't say enough wonderful things about how smooth this coffee is. We bought a one-pound bag to take home! The selection of items in the store are eclectic and fun. Cute greeting cards and gifts. I wish I could remember the barista's name so I could thank her in this review. She had her well-trained dog Koda in the back room; and he was delightful, too. If I ever go back to Alaska, and am anywhere near Girdwood, I will definitely return to The Grind.

A great little detour along your trip on Route 1. The atmosphere is very warm and if you have an eclectic aesthetic, you will love this place. The barista was very kind and gave me some tips on spots to check out. Oh, and the coffee was strong and excellent.

Nice and quaint pitstop on your way to or from a hike. Good coffee, helpful and friendly people, and plenty of snacking options.

Hannah helped me today and she was a fantastic barista. She said she is somewhat new to the profession but she clearly takes her work seriously, the coffee was as good as it looks in the picture! We chatted about the place, which I can’t believe I have never been to before. She praised the owner of 11 years, “Gator”, for really caring about his customers. The shop is wonderfully eclectic and with a lot of fun paraphernalia on the walls to explore. Star Wars fans are in for a treat! It’s a really cozy place to bring a computer and work or just hangout and play a game of chess. Now that I’ve discovered this place, I will visit whenever I’m in Girdwood.

Coffee has got really good here lately. So yummy very surprising. gator the owner now uses totally organic beans and his technique is getting pretty good. Excellent roasting.

My son and I had a lovely coffee there recently on a lovely snowy day.

I love the Food Sandwiches and the Zombie souvenirs at the Grind.

But most of all I love the delicious freshly ground expresso's that are made from beans roasted on site.

Gator the owner really does a good job roasting. I think he is one of those Coffee Geeks.

Always nice to stroll in, and get the day started at the grind. It is a great local coffee shop.

Love this little coffee house. We stopped by every morning from the hotel. Good selection of freshly roasted beans (organic and fairly traded),friendly staff, and reasonable prices.

This place was a pleasant surprise. I did not expect to find a coffee shop the likes of which could be in Chicago or New York York in a small village in Alaska. Friendly service, tasty strong coffee, trendy music and eclectic decor.
