We were on our way to Seward and stopped for breakfast. The place is a nice, friendly, and rustic space. The indoor area is quite loud because of the kitchen fans and radio, but I guess that adds to the charm. We had the Farmers Breakfast Omelette, which was tasty but looked more similar to a frittata folded in half to us. We also ordered the Summer of 75 Special because I love sourdough (they also sell sourdough loaves). Never had sourdough pancakes before so I had to try them. Unfortunately, it tasted a little off to me and I couldn't finish my meal. But overall, we had a pleasant visit here. It was bustling and I can see how people would enjoy it here.

Awesome staff here, super nice and quick. Delicious hot chocolate and super packed grilled ham sandwiches. Great place! Whipped cream has a maple flavor :)

The Bake Shop has bottomless coffee. What more do you need? Food was delicious. Art and stainglass displayed on the walls are for sale.

Delicious. Had pastrami and cheese. Homemade sourdough bread, grilled with cheese to perfection. I always love pastrami, theirs was no difference, but I think the bread was the standout star of the meal. 🤤

Had a sweet roll and coffee. Bought a coffee cup ($28) and they give you free coffee/refills with it, definitely worth it of you're in town a few days, and frankly it's a nice mug so it's worth it regardless.

Their sourdough is phenomenal as well. Definitely recommend stopping in.

The outside seating is beautiful and even on a busy day the wait wasn’t long at all. The spinach mushroom omelette was filling and went perfectly with the buttered toast it came with! I also loved the orange slice. The sandwich was super thick, you’re able to customize which toppings you want. They sell Alaskan sourdough loaves, we bought one to take home, but my favorite was their chocolate chip cookie. So doughy and sweet! They have free water inside for customers as well. A perfect lunch spot.

Big cinnamon rolls! It was a little dry but very yummy. Good coffee too.

My sister took me to The Bake Shop while I was visiting. There was a great selection of breakfast items, it was hard to make a decision! I ended up getting a ham omelette and it came with 2 slices of toast. Fast and friendly service... they brought our meals to us outside. My meal was Huge! I only could eat half of the omelette and 1 slice of toast with some berry jam. It was absolutely delicious though. I would have loved to have taken the rest with me, but we were traveling all day without a cooler to store it. It would be great if they offered a smaller portion. It was So beautiful there. The hanging flowers added a nice touch. I Love to sit outside, so thankful for the benches! When I visit Alaska again, I will make sure to go back!

If you haven’t had a cinnamon roll from The Bake Shop then you probably haven’t been to Girdwood. It is one of those “must eats” in Alaska. Their soups are delicious as well, especially after a day on the slopes. I love their fresh baked breads...I love just being in there smelling it baking. I can’t speak to all of the sandwich menu because I love the grilled cheese so much I don’t order anything else. Recently I purchased one of their bottomless travel coffee mugs. If you ski often it is an absolute must. Free coffee forever. Considering the quality of their food, the great attitude of their staff and the all around fantastic atmosphere of the place (especially in the garden area during the summer) - I expect forever is not far fetched.

Oh my goodness, go for the cinnamon rolls! Soooooo good. We came on a recommendation and are glad we did. We had breakfast here several days during our stay. The staff was friendly, the restaurant clean, and local artwork available for purchase decorated the walls. Outside was a riot of color with all the blooms.
