Excellent place for a filling meal before (or midway) through an active day!

The wife and I took a 10-day trip to Girdwood. We stayed close by to The Bake Shop. The worst days of our trip were Monday and Tuesday as The Bake Shop was not open. Seriously, we ate here every day we could! You MUST try the Reuben here, but you canβt go wrong with anything you order. Get in early if you want to find a seat as this place gets busy and for good reason. The staff is all friendly and helpful. We cannot wait to visit Girdwood again and patronize the Bake Shop more!

Need to search a little for it, but once you find it, you'll be pleased. Friendly staff, great food and gorgeous views! Highly recommend!!

My cinn roll was great, coffee was tasty. I wish I hadnt already had breakfast at home, they had very hearty breakfast items.

There cinnamon roll is SO GOOD! The spices in the bread were such a pleasant surprise! I had the summer of 76' breakfast, because I love sourdough pancakes. It was so yummy with a nice balance of protein and pancake. The bacon was delicious - thick and chewy. Eggs were runny and hot. The pancakes bubbly and sour- sweet perfection topped with real maple syrup.

It was delicious; and just a pastrami sandwich at that. I love the tucked in diner feel, cozy against a mountain ski resort. Even with slightly broken English, the discussion they had with a customer wanting to bring 30 kids in was amazing and extremely helpful.
Also, the endless soup bowls are perfect for a chilly but sunny day in the outdoor seating area.

We went to Alyeska just to go and see the sights and get something to eat. We stopped at the Bake Shop and my wife some clam chowder soup which she said was good. I got a meat lovers pizza which took quite a long time to make, my wife was well done eating before I got my pizza. It was good but I ordered the small and it was $21.00 and it was s.mall just barely bigger than the plate they served it on. It tasted OK not great.

Great coffee, sourdough pancakes, chili, and all kinds of amazing goodies. Do not miss this jewel when you visit Girdwood.
