The atmosphere here is wonderful. It has a very young college-etc type of feel to it. The soft green hue and the music really makes this space a whole vibe. I didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast tacos but they sound amazing so I will definitely be back to try those. The coffee itself is good, but not anything out of this world. I tried the vanilla latte, cappuccino, pour over, and the special white chocolate rose latte. The coffee was good, but the white chocolate rose latte didn’t taste like it had white chocolate or rose in it. My partner, who is a barista and roaster tried it as well and agreed with me. Despite this criticism, I will say the staff was very pleasant and I love the atmosphere, so I do look forward to coming back to Cala Coffee.

Wonderful and refreshing variety on the menu. I had the honey + cinnamon latte with oatmilk and it was comforting and delicious. There is ample seating but it could be organized better to optimize seating in terms of studying vs socializing purposes. But it really didn’t have an impact on the overall experience. Friendly staff, comfortable environment and great coffee!

Cala is so cute! I was in town visiting a friend and she took me here and I was blown away. Their lavender latte is to die for and I also tried the sausage and cheddar scone and loved it! The prices are super reasonable and the service is great… so great that I came back 3 days later to “work from home” before I flew out.

This review is long overdue! I moved to Cahaba Heights about 3 years ago from Northern California and was bummed out when I realized there wasn't a local coffee shop (other than Starbucks) near me. I first visited their temp/?pop-up location at The Fig and enjoyed the drinks and their beans. The permanent location is like a dream - relaxing atmosphere and beautiful/calming interior. I love coming here before work - I order my coffee and while I sit and wait for it, I like to take in the environment and have a moment of peace before I head off to my workplace...the hospital, a chaotic & stressful place.

The one thing I appreciate the most about Cala is their kindness and community-oriented attitude. I have found many coffee shops to be a bit pretentious but Cala is as welcoming as they come! But...don't be fooled by their niceness...they make a mean latte! :D

Wow, just wow. I got the honey cinnamon latte and it was incredible; one of the best I have had. Much larger than I anticipated based on pictures - plenty of space for seating. Good ambience. Friendly service. Great Wi-Fi. Honestly everything you'd want in a coffee shop.

Great local coffee shop with a great vibe. Had two drinks and both tasted great. Also bought some beans to take back home to Kentucky.

I’ve been wanting to try this place out since I saw BhamNow post it on their instagram and I finally got to try it today! It’s a cute little spot, but beware Google Maps tries to take you through the Post Office’s private roads to get here, don’t do that. Cala Coffee was pretty busy for a Wednesday morning with about 10 cars having to park out on the street. The inside is super cute and simply decorated. Not too loud either! Looks like a great study space. I was trying to do no sugar this week, but they only had one sugar-free flavoring, Vanilla, and I wasn’t super pumped about that. So I fudged and got a hot maple + sea salt latte which is pretty fantastic! I believe Annie was the girl that rang up my order and she was super sweet. They put my order on the counter without a lid and I got to see the cute little heart-shaped design they made on the top, it was the perfect touch! I would definitely love to come back here :) Good job Cala, but maybe invest in more sugar free options!

LOVE this new coffee house! Fantastic, tasty menu, friendly staff, clean modern environment with great music. This will be one of my new work spots for sure!
First things I've tried: maple + sea salt latte (hot) & Conecuh cheddar scone.

Cala is my favorite new spot in Bham to grab a coffee, a delicious breakfast taco, and get some work done. The team behind Cala is SO incredible, and they have gone above and beyond to create a space that is bright, welcoming, and perfect for the Cahaba Heights Community. Love it!

What a gem in Cahaba Heights! We've been needing a coffee shop for a while! I've been impressed by how consistently good the coffee is at Cala! They roast their own beans, make their own syrups, use quality milks and weigh the ingredients - which I think is why the coffee has always tasted spot on. In addition to the wonderful coffee, the staff has always been super friendly and helpful if I have any questions or need any recommendations. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area!
