The Southern Grind Coffee House at the WHARF

This is a long overdue review - we visited Orange Beach in April of 2021. Prior to our trip, I reached out to a few establishments that sold ice cream in search of a dairy free option for my son who had a dairy allergy. Cassie at the Southern Grind emailed me back rather quickly stating they carried sorbet but did not have a dairy free ice cream option. She then asked when we were coming and what my son's favorite flavor was because they would make sure to have it for him! INCREDIBLE customer service. When we first walked in to The Southern Grind, we found they had labeled the dairy free chocolate ice cream with my son's name on it. This meant the world to our family. There are not a ton of places out there that offer dairy free ice cream options, unfortunately, which excludes people who have allergies or intolerances. We were so thankful they were willing to make this accommodation for our son, making our trip extra special.
We frequented The Southern Grind multiple times during our week long stay and it never disappointed. Food and drinks (and ice cream!) were all delicious.

One of my wife's favorite places. The food is good and the service is great. Everyone is very nice. They also have fantastic gelato.
My wife also loves the jewelry and home decor products that she sells.

Coffee here is like Heaven in your mouth. I was going to let it cool, but it was the perfect temperature already. The food was fresh and made to scratch. Perfect place to stop at for breakfast before we eneded our vacation

WONDERFUL! Visited 2 days in a row! Awesome decor, fantastic food, nice employees & great coffee style drinks! Even during busy times the employees were polite and worked quickly to fulfill orders! Restrooms were clean! Visiting for car/truck show (Orange Beach Invasion) & we had our BEST experience in this location out of all the businesses at The Wharf! Would HIGHLY recommend Southern Grind! 😋

Menu looked great and the shop itself smells wonderful with the coffee aroma. I didn't eat though. I just came in to grab a beer while walking around. Employee was nice

I have been coming to Southern Grind for over 7 years and I would highly recommend this incredible restaurant/coffeehouse. They have great food and the coffee is a must. They have really good caramel macchiato’s and other really good flavors.

This is the best coffee shop around!! That turkey club panini was amazing oh and the cheesecake brownie was out of this world good!!! They have gelato baked goods and a great selection of foods and drinks!! Lots of beautiful decor, jewelry, books, etc. This is a must for your to do list!!

Super cute coffee house. When you first enter the restaurant, they have merchandise in the front. It immediately draws your attention. I seriously wanted everything!!

The food was AH-MAZING!!! I ordered way too much food, but wow! Everything was soooo delicious! My coffee was good too!! Definitely coming back here when we visit Gulf Shores again!
