Had the egg, sausage, and smoked ham with cheddar sandwich. šŸ˜‹delicious! The caramel macchiato w/ extra shot and whipped cream was top notch! 15/10 me and nugget will order again!

Great food, great coffee, great people. The spinach mushroom quiche is my favorite dish. Must have it at least once a month. Also Joy and Greg support many local community groups. They are also hosts to the Lakeland Art League's art gallery.

Iā€™m not a barista, but I really love a good cappuccino ā€” and one question Iā€™ve had about our northwoods Wisconsin coffee shops is why the espresso drinks couldnā€™t be just as good as they are in the bigger cities. They have the same equipment, and seemingly well-sourced beans which are hopefully properly roasted. Is it just a matter of the right training to ā€œdo it rightā€? In my travels of the northern half of Wisconsin I have found several nice coffee shops where the description of the beans and hefty price of a cappucino gives me high hopes that itā€™ll be great ā€” but then the taste is just, meh, or actually quite a bit worse then meh. Iā€™ve had this experience at both places in Minocqua, and both places in Hayward.

Update ā€” Mystery at least partially solved: skim milk is default for their cappuccinos. I donā€™t know much, but I do know that thatā€™s a no no. So just make sure to request that you want actual real milk with your fancy organic espresso, and all will be well. Now Iā€™ll be checking when I visit the others up here, too!

Iā€™d also like to add that this place was completely accommodating when I was particular about the fruit cup options (the fruit is fresh, not canned or frozen, which is nice, and in my case I wanted only berries), and the spinach mushroom quiche with a side of sausage was a solid ā€œgood.ā€

Iā€™m currently drinking a whole milk cappuccino, and itā€™s no Blue Bottle, but itā€™s a darn nice way to start the day. One more thing to enjoy in the land of lakes, bogs, trails, and trees!

Havenā€™t been in a long time, but found myself missing this place today. I spent a lot of my days off journaling here and enjoying their coffee while working at a nearby summer camp. Doing some journaling this morning and feeling nostalgic.

If a place makes you feel nostalgic you know itā€™s good.

Great calming atmosphere! The homemade food was amazing! We had the Amish eggbake and homemade bread. My latte was also one of a kind!

Friendly service, delicious coffee, huge variety of drinks. The quiches and Amish breakfast are the perfect morning meal if you're looking for something more substantial and less sweet.

Order by phone during Covid. They brought our americanos outside. I like strong coffee/espresso. Taste was best we have found in northern Wisconsin - seriously.

Very busy Sunday morning... So it was probably a little slower than usual. The Mocha tastes like hershy syrup, and the coffee a little watered down, but the food was alright. It was an unexpected treat in a small community.
