Colectivo Coffee- On the Square

Great local coffee spot. This seems to be the go to coffee spot for downtown Madison since it is usually very crowded. They have great coffee (even nitro cold brew on tap) and some food as well. They serve both breakfast and lunch items and pastries. You can also get whole beans to take home and brew collectivo yourself!

Great coffee and service. Bathrooms frequently dirty. There are almost always panhandlers in front. Acceptable prices but a little expensive. We love the Guatemalan vibe this cafe is similar to others in Antigua. Colectivo used to be Alterra back in the 90s.

One of Madison's best coffee shops, collectivo on the square offers great coffee, an extensive menu, and alcohol options. It can get busy and loud, especially on a farmer's market Saturday, but it's still an excellent spot to meet up with someone or get some studying done.

Love the place but it is always way too loud! And whenever I ask them to lower the music, the music only gets lowered maybe for a song or two and then gets way too loud again. This is a cool place to hang out with friends and have lunch. But if you want to study or get work done this is the worst place ever due to the loud music.

Very trendy place if your into that kind of thing. Food and coffee were mediocre. More of a hipster place. Service wasn't that great. Made my wife's and Son's sandwiches but forgot about mine.

Awesome location, amazing vibe, great coffee made by people who seem to know what they're doing... What more could you want? It's not starbucks, and they make good coffee-- enough said

Oh yea, They have their own taps of beer. Get a growler here on your lunch.

Loooove this shop so much. First of all, beautiful view of the capital, and secondly they're coffee is impeccable. Service is very accommodating and helpful. And they're Sante Fe Quiche is out of this world. A Madison must-go for sure!

It's Colectivo! Each store is distinct. Each store is familiar. The coffee is the best anywhere. Food is great too

Cool spot..BUT..on two occasions I ordered lunch and had to wait for extensive period of time. On the first occurrence I had to go after I waited about 20min for my food and had $ refund. On the second I was on my way out when the guys behind the counter brought my food and offered to pack it for me to take out. I ended up eating cold food an hour later.
Now the place is called Colectivo for a reason I suppose. I grew up in a communist country and can say the stuff here has really pick up after the communist culture of no responsibility and no lousy work habits. Don't see them changing the name soon. Would be great if the do change how they help customers....
