The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend The French Press for a quiet lunch for business or personal. They also have a great meeting place.

Stopped for lunch & we had a Tarragon Chicken Salad sandwich & the Normandy sandwich (mozzarella, cheddar, apple & bacon grilled) plus a iced latte & iced Americano. All of it was excellent!! Place was clean & bright and staff friendly. Will definitely be coming back.

We travel a lot and as we do we like to look for funky coffee spots. We were passing through Eau Claire and chose The French Press. My wife ordered a drip coffee and I got a breve latte. There was no flavor in the drip coffee. My wife said it tastes like she's drinking warm cream water. We had our own cups so maybe they were rinsing it out and left the warm water in, got distracted, and added coffee to that? We don't really know. My breve was supposed to be hot, but was cold. As in I don't think they steamed the half and half. At all. The coffee flavor isn't bad, but it's cold. Not only that, but my breve was $7. We have 16 oz cups, they charged me for a large breve. Maybe that's their large size? Either way, it was a lot.of money for absolutely terrible coffees. We will not be back.

I was surprised I was so disappointed in the chicken sandwich we bought for takeout. The bread had nothing on it and the chicken was tough and stringy. Even the lettice looked old and the coffee was lukewarm. The brownie as very good so we had a nice dessert. I doubt we will return soon.

Home town atmosphere but open to outsiders! Sweet place to meet with friends if you have them, and they are willing to drive, walk, or whatever means of travel it takes to get there! Great coffee at fair prices! Although I did not order food, it looked tasty and definitely worth the price!

Their food is good, we had their chicken salad sandwich and the artichoke chicken sandwich. It was a bit bland, but overall good. I cannot say the same for their cupcakes. Dry, hard, and completely tasteless. I don't believe I've had a cupcake that was so disappointing. I'm going to give some of their other bakery items a try, hoping it was just a bad bake!

Since discovering this gem, my husband and I go there for breakfast every weekend. My best friend and I also meet there regularly during the week for lunch. The staff is super friendly, the food and pastries, pies, cookies, granola, fruit tarts -- everything is great. And don't forget about the French Press. If you like strong coffee, the press is awesome and large enough to share with a friend. We've recommended several friends and family to eat here and they're all hooked!

We really liked the vibe and decor in the cafe but unfortunately were let down by our drinks. Both the americano and flavored latte were watery and the coffee didn’t seem to be of a very good or high quality. We will be visiting again to try the food though as the menu options look great, but I’d recommend avoiding the coffee if you’re searching for a good cup.
