Stayed here last weekend with my husband and two adult girls. Was nervous about hotel possibly being dated, but everything was excellent! There was an issue with hot water on the first evening, because of no guests for awhile because of covid-19, but the manager stayed working late into the night to resolve and we had hot water by morning.
Would agree with other reviews that it would be great to have a microwave in room, especially with only carry out food at this time. This is a great place to stay! Great managers also!

It's a beautiful place and views are great! The service was a let down though, with sheets that were dirty before we arrived!... I asked for clean sheets and was told they would handle it the next day, so I had to sleep on the couch all night. I also wasn't staying another night, so it didn't help that they would be cleaning after we left. Won't be back :(

Fantastic Experience. The room accommodations, the hospitality were great! And the view from our balcony was the best!

This place is just great. Excellent location, wonderful room, great restaurant. We stayed in #2; the room was immaculate, super comfy bed, huge shower, lovely balcony. There are some Adirondack chairs down by the water so I got a (totally delish) mojito and enjoyed the sunshine. Later on we went in and ordered some apps, try the bacon wrapped dates, yum. Once the sun set we went in by the bar to watch the end of the Cubs game, and since it was a pretty quiet Sunday evening, the bartender and manager spent some time chatting with us, which we really enjoyed. Drinks are good and fair priced for a hotel bar, all the apps we tried were great, and the service was perfect. What more could you ask for? We can't wait to come back and stay longer!

You're right on the lake front. The room was clean and neat. You have your own private balcony looking out over the bay. Below is a walking & bike path along the shore. There is also a nice patio off the restaurant to just take the view in. It was a great night and a sumptuous breakfast the next morning.

Hard to rate, this is by our standards. Positives- very pleasant staff, Clean, huge double headed shower, coffee pot and fridge in room, comfortable bedding. Nicely decorated room. Free coffee from coffee shop. Coffee in sandbar shop excellent. We wanted lunch there, food looked delicious. But they were over run with marathon people. Good for them, overwhelmed us. Made it difficult to find parking for our room. Would have not booked if we knew marathon in town. Negatives-. In pictures had lake views.. we stayed in captains # 5, only view was when you stood at coffee table. Only had 1 chair. So when we wanted to relax, one had to be on the bed. We heard highway traffic all night. I usually throw on robe and grab extra coffee in morning, in lobby's.Have often met others doing this and usually comfortable. Would have liked to see extra coffee on 3 Rd floor, not comfortable walking in coffee shop with robe on. Would like to see designated parking for rooms.

Me and my hubby stayed 1 night in the captains quarters and we left wishing we could spend a whole week! It was wonderful. Comfy king and a rain shower doesn't get any better then that

Unique boutique hotel. This small hotel has only 5 rooms. We stayed in room 5, the smallest room and the only one without a balcony and a view of the lake. Despite that, the room was really nice with great amenities like a huge shower with overhead rain shower feature. Comfy bed. The hotel is located right off the highway so there is traffic noise. There is no front desk rather you get a code for the elevator to get you to the 3rd floor and the key is in the door. Great for a one night getaway.

We stayed in the #3 Flowing Waters room and OMG!!! It was so beautiful! It was quiet, private, relaxing and most importantly romantic! We were there for our 2 year anniversary and my husband loved the room so much he rated it at 6 stars! He loved the little details, like the wine cork, the bath robes, the coffee maker, and raining showerhead! Its very modern, with a relaxing theme. Best part was sitting in the whirlpool bath tub with the view of Lake Superior! Made us feel like we were on a cruise ship! Love, love, loved everything about our stay!

We stayed in Flowing Waters #3 and wish we would've been able to stay longer. Great balcony overlooking the lake and beautiful lake views from the bedroom. The separate living room was perfect as was the bathroom set up with the sink outside the toilet/shower. And the shower - loved the rainhead and regular showerhead; great water pressure unlike many hotels. The bed was comfy (not soft but definitely not a rock). The overall space was spacious, yet comfy and cozy. I wish we would've had time to check out the restaurant because the menu sounded fabulous. We'll definitely be back if we're in the Ashland area.
