This isn't a very large establishment but Lord a mighty the real French pastery made from scratch and baked fresh throughout the day are amazing even reheated in your microwave they are delicious. Far superior to anything you can buy from a grocery store or most bakeries. I know this to be true I finally got the opportunity to patronize this wonderful bakery in Altoona, WI. If you are ever in Eau Claire or Altoona, WI. Stop by the Nostalgic Bean, for real honest to God authentic fresh FRENCH pastery and fresh brewed coffee. This is yummy eating.

Amazing pastries; very rich, visually appealing, and gave me that "oh wow, that's what an authentic pastry tastes like!" Bonus - we spoke with the baker and she was a gem!

The Bean is awesome! The atmosphere is cozy and lives true to it's name...nostalgic. The chai lattes are delicious as are the lavender shortbread cookies. Looking forward to trying more of the delicious options. Awesome addition to Altoona!

Wanted to check out this new addition to Altoona, and exceeded expectations! Decided to go for lunch, and check out a variety of items. The Wisconsin sub/sandwich (with next door Rumps Roast Beef, before it sold out!), veggie tart, and Forge grain bowl, with some great coffee and Matcha and Chai tea's to complement. Wow, everything was super creative and so tasty! The interior decor and atmosphere is great, but love the option to sit outside on the patio. So happy to have you in Altoona NB, walked over to Rumps after and bought dinner too! We'll be back!

French pastries to die for! Don't drink coffee but I love the smell, and it is divine in The Nostalgic Bean. Worth every penny!

Amazing French bakery, worth traveling for.

Giant chocolate chip cookies - my kids loved them! And the lavender shortbread was delicious. Atmosphere is wonderful, another great addition to Altoona.

Great coffee and very friendly staff! Had one of the mochas a few times now and it’s been great every time. Cool interior/decor as well!
