I wish I could rate The Nostalgic Bean more than five stars because of how amazing everything is. The coffee is great but the true shinning star of the is establishment is the pastries! My own wish is that they were open more often during the week.
This is a must try!
My go to is the turtle mocha and any sweet treat they have.

This is a little hidden gem that my friends and I have been frequenting ever since we found out about it. The croissants, macarons, and coffee are all very yummy. Staff are friendly and happy to explain what everything is. The fleur de croissant and chocolate coconut croissant are two of my favorites. I wish there was more indoor seating, but I understand that they're working with limited space. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Delicious pastries. Best chocolate almond croissant I ever had. Coffee was great, too. Amazing atmosphere and decor. Came from out of town and so happy we stopped by here.

Wow. This place is a hidden gem! We found it in the chippewa tour box this year during start up week, and have literally been there 2 times a week since. The food is traditional french made with all the buttery goodness. You can't go wrong here. croissants are perfect (crispy on the outside and soft inside), macaroons are actually made right and are delicious. And don't get me started on their meat croissants, not a day has gone by that I haven't craved one and wished they were open everyday. The coffee here is also top notch, no burnt beans to be seen. If you haven't been here yet you are missing out, I highly recommend!

We LOVE The Bean! Everything is super fresh and made in an authentic way. Its always a treat to go there. Favorites are the Raspberry pave, the stuffed croissants: chocolate, almond, and chocolate almond. The flemmenkeuche pastries with ham, carmelized onions, and cheese and bacon are also heavenly delicious. Honestly you cant go wrong with anything from the locally sourced and made bakery. Be good to yourself, and go get a chocolate turtle mocha and a clafloutis!

The coffee, Mint Latte, was delicious and paired perfectly with the chocolate cupcake that melted in my mouth. The quiche was delicious and had the perfect amount of veggies to cheese to egg ratio.

As someone who lived in Seattle and worked in coffee for years, I hold a pretty high standard for my pastries and coffee. And HOLY. MOLY. I would NEVER have guessed that little Altoona had a spot with some of the best French prepared croissants & local espresso I've had. Incredible. The perfect crunch to the croissants with a flaky, doughy center. Espresso that's balanced and flavorful (got a dirty iced oat milk chai and WOW, even the chai they use is fantastic). Truly top notch & the service staff are lovely & knowledgeable as well. A gem in this area & if you're around, make sure you don't miss it! đź‘Ťđź‘Ť

A wonderful addition to the Altoona strip! It's beautiful inside, the staff is super friendly, the owners are warm and passionate about the community and what they do.
Their pastries are divine, and the coffee is bold and delicious. The iced mocha is heavenly, and they are getting more syrups and sauces for flavored drinks! If you haven't tried it, you're missing out on a hidden gem!

Epic pastries, delightful decor, and everything you'd expect from a name like nostalgic! My dirty chai was delish!
