I tried this because a friend told me it was the best in Seattle. I ordered an Americano because I always get that to compare more evenly across coffee shops. It really wasn't very good. It was quite bitter. I took a bag of drip blend beans home. They're also quite bitter. After I ordered my server mention that their specialty is lighter roasts and I had ordered darker roasts. So based on my single experience, if you like darker roasts you should still go with one of their boutique lighter roasts here because that's probably where their reputation comes from. Also, it was pretty crowded. I was actually going to go order something else more in line with their specialties, but then by the time my drink came there were seven more people in line. Update: my wife's assessment after a blind taste test, she also thought it was overly bitter and acidic.

Excellent coffee. The barista made a perfect iced vanilla latte. We’ll definitely make this a regular stop when we’re in the area.

I thought this chain was the epitome of coffee atmosphere. The cappuccino I got wasn’t the best: the espresso was okay and the milk was over steamed for oat milk BUT that being said I would still recommend it. The food looked great, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Sometime oat milk can be hard to work with so I would still check this place out! Plus the neighborhood is adorable!

Herkimer is a verified Seattle treasure. I’ve frequented both the Dexter and this Phinney Ridge location quite a bit and have always found the coffee consistently delicious and the service exemplary (at both locations). Mostly I’ve ordered their espresso in various forms and cold brew and have never regretted it. The staff has great attention to detail, knows their stuff and works hard to deliver a great product. I want to give them high-fives, but there’s a pandemic, so five stars it is. A trip to Herkimer is often the highlight of my day!

Had a great tasting macchiato and equally tasty discounted after 4pm chocolate cookie. Will be back!

Herkimer is an amazing coffee shop. The coffee is some of my favorite in the whole world. This shop has a local phinney vibe; if you are a visitor just be aware you are not walking into Starbucks.
The baristas are top notch, especially Kyle, Janelle, Riley and McKenna although not too chatty. But they make up for it with being fast and efficient MOST days.
Love this place and highly recommended.

A watery, weak mocha served by a cordial staff. Large windows provide plenty of sunshine to come through to the barstool seats that line them. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating. A neighborhood coffeehouse.

Herkimer remains one of the best roaster and cafe chains in the Seattle area. Their beans all taste unique and their cafes are fantastic.

Still on my best cold brew/cafe in Seattle journey, but this greenwood Herkimer location is def the top spot so far. Great flavor and balance in their cold brew, and there is something very warm and welcoming about this spot. Service has always been friendly and fast, with genuine (you will read this word often in my reviews, as it is the barometer I use to judge service!) people ready to take care of you!
Really happy they are back open for dine in, hope we can keep that up!
