This is a cool, trendy little spot with plenty of open, outdoor seating. The tables/fire pits are set with social distancing in mind, but also to give you a little more privacy. Wasn't very crowded when we went midmorning on a Sunday anyway.
The breakfast menu is creative and the dishes we got were tasty. We got the Cowboy Egg Casserole and the Apple Smoked Bacon. Both were delicious, and reasonably priced considering the area.
The only thing that irked me was the included tip in the bill. I hate it when places do this. They take away your choice and ability to tip based on quality of service. What If the service and food and experience was terrible and I didn't want to tip at all? I didn't tip any extra because of this.

This eclectic cafe has a quaint patio with plenty of family friendly seating! We were so glad our original plan was closed and we stumbled upon Citizen. The food was good, and the atmosphere was even better.
It is a touch slow on the service, the cappuccino wasn’t anything to glow about, and they do factor in a 20% tip no matter what. Didn’t bother us, the space to sit and relax was worth it, but others might feel differently.

Photo of my half eaten waffle because the food was so good I was excited for brunch and forgot to take pictures… we love their online ordering and payment system that makes it easy to split bills, the service is minimal but friendly, and everything about this place is super efficient (paper cups and plates, QR code ordering + payment, etc.). The space is neat with a cool outdoor patio space, and a quaint upstairs. We’ve been here three times for weekend brunches and haven’t ever had to wait for a table. The food is good! The Citizen Waffle has been my favourite so far, but all the savoury waffles have been pretty similar. My table also ordered the breakfast sandwich and the Cuban sandwich and those were great too. It’s too bad the sandwiches come with chips instead of fries — I think that would elevate the experience. While the food is reasonably priced for brunch, they include an automatic 20% tip which drives up the cost (which is strange because the only service is them bringing the food to your table).

Went here for brunch and loved the options available for vegetarians. The food was good but we had difficult time with the toast (it was too hard). Other than that we loved the place. They have nice outdoor area with heaters. The coffee was good and the service was quick. Definitely recommend the place. Cheers!

Grabbed a quick to go sandwich, the BLAT on the menu. Pretty good! There isn't a ton of incredible lunch spots in this area and I think this restaurant isn't open for lunch every day. But the food was good, they have espresso drinks and the staff was friendly.

It is an awesome place to hangout with your friends either for a coffee, drink (summer) or even for light brunch.
There were many spots like 2 seater covered from rain. That made me realize it offers a really cozy place and it is a really good place for a simple coffee date 😉
It closes at 2pm unfortunately (at least in winter).

This review is solely about the outdoor space as I did not drink here. Love the outdoor space- specially for a large group.
It’s a good place to invite a bunch of people to reconnect or just hang out in a relaxing environment. The couches and chairs are comfortable and plenty and the tent keeps the temperature pleasant. There is also seating outside the tent.

I stopped for Saturday brunch. I like their self-serve process where you can place the order from the table. It wasn't too busy and service was pretty fast. I took the Cuban roasted pork sandwich which was okay. My wife got the house waffle which was a bit bland. Also, the waffle did not have any crunch in them. It looked a bit flat and soggy. I have had their guacamole toast before which I liked but this time it was okay overall.

I've been to this place multiple times, wanting to give it a chance each time. But unfortunately it never got better. The one star is for the wonderful servers who were kind and helpful throughout.
Here's all the issues:
1. Food AND DRINKS took an actual hour after ordering. Normally in a busy place this would be understandable. But we were some of the first people there sitting at a table. Also if you can't keep up with the orders at least let people know that it will take that long. The delay was the same each of the three times I went to this restaurant in the past year. All at varying times of day.
2. Food came cold after waiting a whole hour. And not even fully prepared. As you can see my waffle wasn't full and didn't have the toppings fully on top but more just there. The fruit had multiple rotten pieces as well.
3. No compost or recycling done outside despite plates being paper and cups recyclable.
4. The servers were literally running as soon as food was given, clearly they need more staff or support for servers and cooks.

Went for brunch to Citizen Cafe. The place is huge so had plenty of options to sit around. The food was nice and had quite a few vegetarian options as well. Coffee was great.
The restaurant is still serving in disposable silverware with zero interaction with the server so that was the part I hoped was different. Overall good experience.
