The food was fine, but the staff refused to give my 80 year old mother a cup for water (on her birthday)so she could take her medication, as she cannot take it with coffee. They offered to sell us a water in a plastic bottle, after we spent over $35 on breakfast, indicating company policy not to provide empty cups for water per the manager. NOT how we wanted to start our vacation.

Wonderful little coffee shop with a little something for everybody. Their espresso is smooth and tasty, and they also have a plethora of different flavor syrups and different coffee options. They also have a lot of different breakfast and lunch options for those looking for something more substantive, as well as various baked goods and other sweets. Perfect if you're looking for a coffee fix and lunch.

Quintessential college coffee shop. Breakfast and lunch menu, large selection of coffee, local art, and posters of current events. A must visit for coffee drinkers.

The place looks pretty nice, the menu is big but was crazy in there. Grabbed a cold brew which was delicious and ran away.

So delicious! We had the brie stuffed french toast which was AMAZING, the breakfast burrito (also amazing), and the James River omelet (the crab one-- soooo good)! It was all really delicious. We got take out and I'm glad we did because it was ready in <20mins, walked in and out with it immediately, and it was just as delicious. The place was busy but the flow seemed to be going well. The honey do latte was off the charts delicious! Highly recommend!

The Egg and Cheese Sandwich and coffee were good. A bit overpriced for what it was though.

So many good drink and food options. Something for everyone and very good and fast service

Nipped in for a cup of decaf coffee. The server did not smile or show any warmth. The coffee wasn’t great but I think it had been there for quite a while.

Aroma's by all measures isn't a bad coffee shop, just nothing out of this world either. I will say I find that the coffee itself isn't that great, but they have a decent selection of breakfast and lunch options that are all pretty good.

What makes Aroma's so incredibly overrated is the setup absolutely sucks. They have one register which means the line gets long super quickly and starts wrapping around the store. The inside gets really packed and loud which is fine by all means but definitely not a place you can sit down for hours to do work. Also they shout your food out on this loudspeaker which again can get annoying to listen to when you're there doing work or trying to have a conversation. I might sound like I am nitpicking but trust me you do not want to be there during the breakfast rush when there's people standing on top of you when you're trying to enjoy a coffee or sandwhich.
