Great atmosphere. We enjoyed our chai tea lattes and breakfast. We look forward to our next visit.

This is the second time we've come here, the food and service do not disappoint! Everything is consistently really good and everyone is so friendly and the place has a great vibe.

$20 bad sandwich cold bread hot meat - $24 with tip, cockroaches on floor and waited 26 minutes for it to come out- being the one and only person in restaurant. 10/10 don’t recommend.

Took them 30mins to make my coffee and 45 mins to make my sandwich. The worst part was that they left my sandwich on the counter for several minutes while flies sat on it. As I sat and waited to be served my meal, I noticed other customers foods and drinks on the counter and being touched by flies. I didn't eat my sandwich and requested a refund, waiters stated the owner would not give me a refund, when I insisted to talk to him, I was told that he called me slow, and that he would not come to see me. The staff apologized to me and mentioned that the manager is horrible that they don't get their tips and their wages get cut. Eventually I went to the counter and was requesting for the manager by the kitchen window, and he came out yelling at me and acting unhinged. I left without my refund, as manager was not willing to take care of a paying customer. Will never go back to this disgusting place. If your looking for a quick hot meal and good service, this is not the place to go.

Like another reviewer mentioned, you have to order outside first, and it was unclear at first if we could even sit inside (fortunately, we could). Wait staff was nice but seemed annoyed when we asked basic questions (such as “can we sit inside?” Can we get a water cup?” Can we get some napkins please?”).
Once we went inside, we were overcome by the smell of bleach. They also don’t offer free water cups to paying customers. They said we would have a pay for bottled water. For me, that alone is enough to deter me from dining in there again. If we went in and only asked for waters that would be understandable, but given that by that point we had already ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 lattes that cost us nearly $50, not getting a free water cup was pretty surprising. Lattes were fine, but a bit pricey for their actual taste and size. The interior and patio have fun decor and good music, but the interior is also somewhat messy.
All that being said, the only thing they really have going for them is good music and good food, so I’d suggest just getting take out.

Why does it cost extra for you to add extra pumps of syrup that was already in the coffee in the first place? I understand if you want to add a different syrup or other add-ins, but just to modify the original recipe? Not even Starbucks charges for that. We also waited 45 minutes for our food, and when we arrived there wasn’t much people there in the first place. The cashier told us that chips would come with our sandwich but when the server delivered our food we were told that we weren’t getting any chips. The food was good but the place was too inconvenient.

Absolutely terrible. Spent $35 for a muffin, breakfast wrap & a coffee. The set up is not functional. We stood in the hot sun and had to retrieve our own menus to be able to order. We waited 15 minutes for our coffee and 45 minutes for our food. The staff was very unfriendly and during our long wait we witnessed only one staff member give a friendly smile. To add to the unfriendliness, the staff was rude in explaining why they do not give out cups of water. Robbed by their prices and simply couldn’t receive a complementary water due to “covid regulation” so you have to pay for bottled water. All a money heist.

The coffee is really good, but the food was disappointing. The food was over-hyped and overpriced. I had the Wipeout breakfast sandwich and it was very bland. My friend had the Big Kahuna and it only tasted of Sriracha..

We've been here a handful of times before, but this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in 10 years in VB. Got here at 11:34 on a Saturday, ordered our food almost immediately (in a line outside, there is no table service anymore) and got our food at 12:42. Turns out they somehow lost our order and we finally had to grab someone to let them know how long we'd been waiting. You are also forced to pay and tip as soon as you order. With the multitude of great brunch options in the area, I don't think we'll be returning here.

Always delicious and chill at Java. With TONS of spacious, outdoor seating and online ordering for drive up pickup (you don't even have to get out of your car, which is great when you have kids in the back). The staff is always friendly, attentive and helpful if you're having a hard time deciding. They're very welcoming.
I haven't had anything I didn't like, but I'd definitely recommend the chicken salad, Lighthouse sandwich, scrambles and paninis. I love this place because it's easy for me to make a heathy choice or a delicious-stuff-my-face-hangover-cure one lol Also ANY of the coconut coffees will take you away to a happy place! There are lots of sides that are perfect for kids, like scrambled eggs, bagels and blueberry muffins.
Love the vibe here--from the giant murals, to the flow of the seating layout, to the staff, to the food. We love supporting this neighborhood staple! Thanks y'all <3
