Java Surf Café & Espresso Bar

Such a cute little gem just several minutes away from the VA beach boardwalk. The selection of food choices and coffee styles were delicious, accommodating and easy to order. The staff was friendly and welcoming! So impressed by all the efforts taken by their team to abide by the CDC guildines as they offer outdoor and indoor dining options. My friends and I ate here for a late breakfast two days in a row because we loved it so much.

good atmosphere, but the pricing is too high. i added hummus to an $11 sandwich and i ended up paying $15?? it’s realllyyy expensive, i would go somewhere else.

I would review the food, but ordered an hour and 15 minutes ago and still haven't gotten our order. Fricken ridiculous. Considering it was $90 for 2 adults and 2 kids, I expect a hell of a lot better then this!

The combinations of sandwiches are well crafted without trying too hard to be different and end up bring over thought. The food here is fresh and exciting.

I meant to write this review a while ago, but regardless this place was amazing! Went here for breakfast in July, and their coVid preparation outside was excellent. I ordered the Lighthouse Melt and my god it was amazing. Probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. I dream about it. I want to learn how to make it. You should get it.

Awesome coffee and awesome staff. The vibe is great, too. We went to the "Vibe District" and enjoyed our drinks on the patio surrounded by some beautiful art. When I decided I wanted to purchase a shirt they had but they didn't have my size the owner offered to drive to his other store to get it. Since vacationing we decided to go get it ourselves. Great staff their too!! Got a sweet shirt and a delicious coffee. Kudos.

So I don’t drink coffee, but the food was on point. Some of the best freshly squeezed orange juice I’ve had. The decor is really fun in what I can see is an up and coming creative/artistic district. The owner was super friendly and I even met his new born twins.

I could tell that people liked his coffee as people were coming in just for that.

Front of house very friend and unflappable. Sandwiches were excellent although they took a long time to come out because of to go orders. Salad with avocado and pico was so fresh we ate it without dressing. Coffee and Iced Coffee were really good. And the brownie, mmmmm.

Stopped here for breakfast on our last day in Virginia Beach, and I am so glad we did! We arrived about 4 minutes before they opened (at 8am on Labor Day) and the owner was super nice; he greeted us and personally let us inside to be seated.Our server was very helpful and attentive. She helped us make our selections; I ordered the Big Kahuna and my husband had The Lighthouse
